Here's another poll released recently with even fewer participants that says more people haven't decided yet than the sum of people who would vote for Fry or Sim. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ pallas-data.ca/2026/07/30/v...
This is a fun exercise because these aren't just games that I liked, that left a strong impression on me, that I want to see more of... These are games I wish were more widely experienced and appreciated.
Today in Neighborhood News, someone stole the bench next to the little library!
The median net worth in BC is $773.5k. The property tax bill, proportionally, is $309. Would you twist your hat, chomp hard on your cigar and waste a lot of people's time in order to pay slightly less than $300 instead?
So, if my back-of-the-napkin math is right, Chip Wilson is quibbling over 0.04% of his wealth, assuming he didn't get any wealthier for one year. ... makes me wanna rip up this napkin
Great visualization of unfathomable scales of greed. However, I don't like that there was no more text after about 100 billion... I still had so much left to scroll!
I'm mostly stunned that this is charging forward with none of this information easily available, and before any terms or agreement even exists! Who exactly needs this and why? Will the answers even be valid when the buildings are finished? Why should we reserve valuable space now for data later?
Genuine question, is any other project drawing the equivalent of 85,000 BC homes that these three buildings will? If so, that's fair I guess... but if not, I think the "different rates" should apply immediately.
We're already going to be squeezed for power over the next decade, do we really need to add more pressure?
The tutorial character didn't do much, but my first "real" run is an avian-mutated gunslinger and the start of every encounter feels like this
Love that the author goes on to both-sides this by hitting the One City statement with the ol' Merriam-Webster check.
It was unseasonably bright, sunny, and warm yesterday in Vancouver, so naturally, I spent all day playing Twilight Imperium
Unfortunately, I won't be going to GDC this year. It was an honour to have our talk selected and I was looking forward to it, and to catch up with my Bay Area friends. It's just not safe to cross the border, even to San Francisco. Someday soon, I hope.
Gearing up for the @onecityvan.bsky.social mayoral town hall! Standing room only! #vanpoli
It is Sunday. I am watching Shin Godzilla for the first time. In Japanese. It is Monday. I am watching Shin Godzilla for the first time. In English...
Thank you, I liked this article! I've been paying attention to how media depoliticizes things but it's absolutely done by government too.
This morning the ABC-majority council voted to pursue a 0% increase to property taxes for next year. The city staff's report recommended 5-7% just to maintain services. Every non-ABC councillor opposed. A number of opposition call-in comments usually only seen for rezoning motions. Passed 6-4.
It just keeps happening. More money for overtime, more money for more need for overtime, more money, more money, oops we're over budget!
