No longer a joke candidate, Count Binface offers a manifesto that delivers far more for Clacton than Farage ever has.
Farage’s and Reform’s nasty, racist, corrupt antics are no laughing matter but I do find it genuinely funny that they’re now scared enough of Count Binface to try to discredit him - a bloke with a bin on his head! They’ll be trash- talking him next.
People of Clacton, can you think of anything more quintessentially English than electing a bin to kick out a privately educated City Boy who’s been gifted millions to represent billionaires’ interests? Show the world how Freeborn English Men & Women act and vote Count Binface!
Those clinging to the fantasy of Brexit having been fine in principle splutter that the problem was Johnson’s specific deal. The problem though was the very ideological bedrock of Brexit: an exclusive, self-harming, atavistic nationalism. It may yet pose even bigger problems. x.com/BBCRosAtkins...
Just as Al Capone was brought down by overlooked financial affairs, so Farage’s fostering of racial hatred and violence over the years might ultimately be punished indirectly by action against his grifting wheeler-dealing. I fervently hope so.
Ten years ago it was all the EU & European immigrants’ fault. Now it’s all other immigrants’ and especially asylum seekers’ fault. Same people spouting the same absurd propaganda only with more funding from a supra-national, far right billionaire class. And it’s still working!
When Trump’s reign is finally ended two very different issues will symbolise his failure. Overseas, his stupidity in wrecking Obama’s Iran deal & humiliation at the hands of Tehran, & domestically the Reflecting Pool’s degradation: an icon of corruption & environmental contempt.
Why propaganda and disinformation are essential to far right parties like Reform in a nutshell.
Puts me in mind of the famous Eric Williams quote, “British historians wrote almost as if Britain had introduced Negro slavery solely for the satisfaction of abolishing it”
This image of slightly outnumbered DRC fans celebrating a goal in Lisbon has got to be the best of the World Cup so far.
Farage has now jumped off the tightrope he’s always walked between the overtly racist extreme right and mainstream politics. Clearly he judges that outright racist extremism is now safe enough for him to risk in an attempt to head off Restore.
I suspect that even after an eventual change of regime in Iran, this false hope, betrayal even, that led to thousands more deaths, will not be forgotten.
1/2 Here’s a radical idea. How about blaming the rioters? Or at least the politicians who egged them on, rather than the ones who didn’t?
Politics is a funny old business. Here’s the Daily Mail condemning a party for being racist in support of its preferred racist party.
Wonderfully articulate account of the way that far right politicians are re-activating atavistic forms of violent colonial racism against black and brown Britons, from Raman Mundair & Deviji RM Jaan. bellacaledonia.org.uk/2026/06/12/t...
2/3 From its general coverage and its special investigations viewers will obtain the impression that immigrants are vastly over-represented in criminality. There is no evidence suggesting this is true.
1/3 We’re accustomed to a right wing press making editorial selections to spotlight immigrant criminality. But the @BBCNews now gives it resolutely disproportionate attention too. The effect is to distort reality and legitimise far right narratives.
Some guidance for mainstream journalists. The image on the left does not show protestors, it shows criminal rioters. The image on the right shows protestors.
British journalists have a duty to our country, and to all they supposedly hold dear as fearless pursuers of truth, to hold Farage accountable and challenge far right disinformation. www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/uk/...
Henry Nowak’s murder is being politicised despite the family’s wishes because billionaire-funded propaganda is promoting the perverse idea of white victimhood to support far right populists. This anomalous incident is too good an opportunity for men like Farage & Vance to waste.
It’s not that complicated. Until the Conservative Party explicitly distances itself from the idea of English belonging involving “blood”, “race”, “DNA” or any other biologically-determined factor, it will remain an extremist, far right party like Reform. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
2/3 Here’s how the same survey could have been reported: 85% of police taking successful inclusion course did not feel pressured or controlled. 98.9% agreed that they were free to talk openly. For the original evaluation of the course see: library.college.police.uk/docs/Practic...
1/2 The Spectator has long given intellectual cover to the far right more or less subtly, but publishing this, with its explicit promotion of demographic replacement, white nationalist and remigration ideas, puts this once venerable magazine firmly in the extremist, fascistic camp.
With the World Cup approaching can I suggest that a UK manufacturer create a St George’s Cross flag with “Supporting England’s Football Team” on it, to distinguish from the cheap Chinese-made ones that proclaim “I’m a racist”?
Lloyds of London have sponsored a requiem acknowledging the harms of its underwriting much of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. observer.co.uk/news/nationa...
In Sept last year The Times columnist Matthew Syed wrote that “Operation Raise the Colours” was a sign that “we live in a great nation”. Any second thoughts now that the organisers have been arrested for violent crimes including murder?
Max Hastings exemplifies the double standards applied to antisemitism and Islamophobia. Even when condemning Israel’s use of excessive violence he cannot help denigrating the entire Arab people (and by the way Naguib Mahfouz won the Nobel Prize for Lit 1988). www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...
How I wish the new breed of Reform-supporting English nationalists, with their dreams of unbroken blood & soil ancestry, would read Daniel Defoe’s 18th century definition of the True Born Englishman: www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44081/...
