Close Enough for Government Work: 21st Anniversary Edition is now available. It is the rare DM I will respond to. #PhotographersUnited #AFT
Bird and fish experiencing Circle of Life. Nature's grand, but it can be a bitch sometimes.
May I share a squirrel? This fellow at the Grand Canyon seemed pretty sure my wife had something of his and he was determined she should give it back.
Going through the photo files looking for one thing, which I eventually found, but this also came up. Goleta State Beach Park. Taken in July, 2021, in the little window when we thought that maybe the pandemic had lost interest.
A few years ago I gave the Marketing Dept instructions to get some celebrity endorsements for "devil Went Down to Phoenix." The ROI was not what I was hoping for.
Sometimes it's a good idea to just take in the wonder of this world. It helps keep a person motivated to protect it. My home state has its share of loony politicians and the proudly ignorant people who support them. It also has the Grand Canyon. Love the results with 50+ yr old Nikon 28mm.
As much as I enjoy stories involving some forms of the supernatural, I'm not whatyou could call a believer. But I would love to give credit to Mother Nature. If the results are satisfactorily stormy and swarm, that is.
Our Glorious President has made a Very Terrific Pride Month statement. Many people say it couldn't be clearer or more prideful.
A few lifers were checked off the list during a recent brief stay at Mount Lemmon, a Sky Island site just outside of Tucson. Two of them are the Yellow-eyed junco and the Rivoli's hummingbird. #Birdphotography
Twenty-one years ago a book posed the question, "Can jazz save the world?" If you missed it then, now's your chance to correct that unfortunate oversight. Revised and updated and just as funny as 21 years ago, only more relevant than ever.
Celebrating a Lifer this morning at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. Townsend's warbler. #birdphotography
Thanks to Janis Ian for sharing this and a whole lot more inspiring images.
I got a jump on Indie Bookstore Day today by visiting a terrific, very bookstoreish shop in downtown Mesa called Book Gallery. It's the kind of shop I hope my books can be found at years from now. Picked up a couple of Twain volumes.
Every time that man comes to town I wish I had the budget to distribute free copies of this outside the venue.
A lazuli bunting for your Friday. As seen at Paton Center for Hummingbirds in Patagonia, AZ.
To anyone in denial regarding the fact we're dealing with a cult, the cult leader would like to share this message...
My fictional President seems pretty stable nowadays. Relatively speaking.
Hiaasen is one of my contemporary literary heroes. His latest is funny, heartfelt, and has a big dose of righteous anger. Recommended.
Ebook or paperback, "Close Enough for Government Work: 21st Anniversary Edition" is now available. Create your own Easter Miracle, and check out an author you've never heard of, a book that was decades in the making. I bet you'll like it.
Here's your weekend read...Close Enough for Government Work: 21st Anniversary Edition
How in the world can there be 432 books in the "Humor About Law & Crime" category that rank higher than "Close Enough for Government Work: 21st Anniversary Edition?" This must have something to do with mail-in voting! Stop the Steal!
"devil Went Down to Phoenix" took me a long time to write too. And I'm confident my political satire is filled with a more Christ-like message than Vance's "Communion."
I was straightening up Ye Olde Inventory of Author Copies and came across this Very Rare Upside Down copy of The Baer Boys.
