There are multiple pieces of media I can think of that second sentence applies to...
Repost a game you love that got too much hate Lords of Shadow sold and reviewed well, but it is/was divisive amongst longtime Castlevania fans. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fair, but hating it feels awfully extreme in this case.
I know their game is niche and far from recent, nor are they some 80s throwback pick, but seeing The Last Story acknowledged in this day and age with more than a few trophies or spirits would be exciting. Playable Zael and/or Calista, Lazulis Island stage, more Uematsu music.
This is without even going into the fact that they reused the same sprite throughout most of her playable 2D appearances, from the original Darkstalkers in 1994 to Capcom vs. SNK 2 in 2001.
I am glad that old attitudes about gaming have seem to been all but abandoned. Crap like letting kids play GTA or entirely rejecting 2D in favor of 3D.
Fun Facts: - It might be hard to tell with the lighting, but the color palette of Gabriel's armor closely resembles that of Simon's from Castlevania II. - Observant Smash Bros. Ultimate players might also notice that for Gabe's spirit battle, the opponent is Simon with his CV2 colors.
I stand by it being one of the last good pre-remake Tony Hawk games. I like the concept of skating around a pseudo open-world LA and revitalizing an old park. But story mode, as endearing as the characters are, isn't as fun on replays when half the game is forced tutorials.
Honestly, whether it's a 1-to-1 remake or vastly different, I'd like to see them expand on the story. I'm also curious to hear the characters' voice lines. Regardless, I always imagined the ideal remake closely resembling the official art. The 3DS version did a solid job at this.
