One of my Ancestors named Philip Turner was the 1st full time Surveyor for HBC...w/ help of Indigenous guides he mapped the route from Wawa to Moose Factory (1781)...there is a plaque commemorating the 1st Trek he made...just off the highway South of Old Women Bay...at the Michipicopten River.

Just finished almost 5km...was 1st out...there was track deep under new snow...so I basically groomed the trail for everyone...certainly a workout moving that snow...was getting sticky near the end...was telling folks when I got back they'd need their glide wax today. #XcountrySki
