You start Death's Door and think oh this is Dark Souls inspired just because death and collecting souls, then you find a guy with a pot with soup for a head and then realize how in tune with the spirit of DaS they are
Also, important lore: the developers are the guys who did the Decline of Video Gaming flash animations on Newgrounds
Crow Country An immaculately executed set of ideas that hearkens back to PS1 survivor horror games while also building its own identity with a good twist on how the camera and gunplay work and an artstyle that captures the early CGI look and adds to the creepyness of the setting
Vinland Saga A very powerful story. The development of Thorfinn's character was handled incredibly well to deliver its core theme.
Mortal Kombat 2 Hilariously and correctly ignored most of the plotpoints of the previous movie. It really knew how to use the material and was just really fucking fun
Carrion A pretty fun stealth/puzzle hybrid about being a fleshblob escaping a laboratory and consuming every human you find in your way as they scream in terror. It’s fairly linear but I still could’ve used a map to search for the last upgrades
The unrealistic body standards in gaming are getting out of control, how is anyone supposed to reach this level?
Gastova: The Witches of Arkana Nothing mind blowing, it’s a pretty simple Mega Man-ish game but it’s kinda charming. A little too easy at first but turns more challenging in its second half. It has a few minor issues and some rough voice acting but it’s still pretty decent
