The GM proposes that perception consists of external dynamics projected onto the senses, not internally constructed interpretations of stimuli. The brain's essential function is to stabilize these dynamics through continuous feedback-mediated interaction.
My strongest objection is that computation is always description, never the phenomenon itself. A computation may model perception or behavior, but it has no causal coupling to the externally unfolding dynamics from which perception and behavior arise.

I disagree. Cognition is fundamentally continuous, linear, and analog, like the peak moving in a stadium wave . Brain oscillations may coordinate neural activity, but they do not organize cognition itself.
A genuine question. Could you imagine an alternative interpretation in which the hippocampus does not itself generate the event structure, but primarily supports the re-engagement of externally specified structures projected onto the sensory surface?

For an example, In classic research Hayhoe/Land produced these images. This is the template how we execute a tea making task. This is the external "internal" model where science is looking for. By just executing the template every internal process will follow automatically.
