“Learning does not make one learned: there are those who have knowledge and those who have understanding.” Faria teaching Edmond how to think… This is my first time reading it, and it’s so exciting because it feels like the storm is really starting to brew.
Took today off to calibrate to the time change. Hanging out in Old Town with Boudicca’s Daughter by Elodie Harper and The White Book by Han Kang. Sipping a Mazapan Banana at Black Bird Coffee House. 🐦⬛☕️ Enjoying observing the tourists.
1,783 mikes to NYC, Zurich 2,262 miles behind me. A beer. A tomato juice. A cookie. And 125 pages into The Vegetarian by Han Kang.
Not a big drinker. Had two drinks at dinner and came back to the hotel and took a ridiculous amount of selfies on the balcony. Feeling good. Enjoying my lil buzzzz. Cheers from the Oberland 🍻🇨🇭
Also on my bucket list, I dream of high tea at the Plaza Hotel in NYC! It’s probably an Eloise thing 💕
Reflecting in the full light of an alpine morning on what a gift it is to arrive at 40.
7 alpine-miles to celebrate turning 40🇨🇭A beautiful day with @pinonjuniper.bsky.social
One thing that I really like about myself is that I don’t spend my time talking about other people in a negative way. If I’m talking about someone that’s not in the room it’s generally to lift them up. I’m not perfect, but I would say I like where I’m at in that respect.
Pg 688/858 of Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty. At Lasso, in ABQ.
Somewhat Magritte vibes. Saw this on Pinterest and it stood out to me. I think there’s some fun and lightheartedness here but there’s also something I find compelling that I can’t put my finger on. Not sure of the artist.
My wildflower garden. These first tiny baby leaves are called “cotyledons”. Germination was successful. In 2-3 weeks I’ll have a jungle then they’ll start competing with each other and thin out. For now, they’re bright green and healthy and the rocks are helping to create pockets of moisture. Fun.
Kim Mintz. “I welcome you to a space where escapism isn't frivolous, but a potent tool for understanding ourselves and the world around us.”
Sacred land that is not mine. Is not my ancestors. I pray for you - And that rain finds you before fire. I set out today to be worthy enough to stand upon you; Never meeting my goal but never ceasing to try.
I’m a simple gal who has a love for OOTD pics and reading corners.
