Democracy enthusiast. Voter and knitter in beautiful Washington state. Bit of a nerd.
Grocery shopping today. Two observations: Music in the store was Quiet Riot’s "Cum on Feel the Noise" (lol). My favorite coffee is now $17.29 per pound. People always talk about high gas prices (now back above $5/gallon here). Coffee prices should be mentioned, too!
OK #foodsky, I need some recipe ideas for a boatload of tiny flavorful plums. I know about sweet stuff, I am looking for more SAVORY dishes. Got some favorite recipes?
Can we add the League of Women Voters to your list? They’ve been fighting for voter rights for over 100 years. I’m doing voter registration with them today
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads who say “crick” instead of “creek”. (And Happy Father’s Day to all you fancypants dads who say”creek”, too!) Guess which camp my dad falls in?
I saw this on Instagram today. It’s surprising how often I find myself thinking this: “Your AI flyer looks like shit” Link: www.instagram.com/p/DZIrDL6ieCF/
I’ve recently gotten into drinking chamomile tea. I saw a German chamomile plant at the nursery, and decided to give it a go. First tiny crop is drying now!
What’s gas like in your neck of the woods? Here’s what I’m dealing with in western Washington
Once in my LYS, I was fondling a beautiful skein of yarn, and bemoaning “Why am I tempted? I have lots of yarn, I don’t need more!” And the yarn shop employee shrugged and dropped this truth bomb: “Love doesn’t need a reason.” Anyway, here is my latest yarn love
I published a free knitting pattern on Ravelry today! It’s a long bias scarf with some faux “lace” on each end, made from a combination of dropped stitches and some twisted stitches Pattern is called “Go Boldly” and is available here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... #knittersofbluesky
My “lawn” in the shadier areas is more moss, baby-blue-eyes, and violets than grass. I don’t hate it #bloomscrolling
Woah, rude! I don’t remember Coke being so judgmental when I was a teenager
I saw my first unleaded over $6 last week, with diesel closing in on $7 (western Washington)
Not everything from the 70s is ugly. Take this charming pottery turtle planter. It was on my mom’s kitchen windowsill for as long as I can remember, now it lives on mine. Most stuff from the 70s is hella gross though, ngl
I found this tiny bird egg, about the size of a jelly bean, in the middle of the path It’s so cute it made me squee. I hope its nest mates survived
Y’all. My Gen Z son and his girlfriend went to their first protest today with us. There were many hundreds, maybe 1000, at the #nokings protest in our small town. His grandparents were there too. Gen Z, Gen X, and Boomers represent! I promised no face photos on social media, but here’s their sign:
Yeah there’s a way to go before double digits. But the gas is still painfully high here in western Washington. I took a photo at the pump yesterday. So glad I don’t use diesel The cowards at the Safeway down the road stopped posting the prices on the big sign, btw
Post something trivial that makes you happy: New t-shirt! My ferry-riding, Puget Sound-loving inner geek loves this design so much
Scroll fast if you don’t want to see a spoiler for the Lyrical Knits “Believe” MKAL. The third clue is out, so I’m sharing a pic of Clue 2. I love it! Subtle it is not, in these colors anyway. #knittersofbluesky #knitsky

I don’t do much lace knitting. But I love this sweater pattern so much that I have knit it three times. It’s my go-to knitwear in the summer #showmeyourknits #knitsky #knittersofbluesky Pattern: Boxy Lace Tee by Churchmouse
My “Existential Dread” sliding pins arrived so quickly! Thanks @bibiblossoms.bsky.social Shown here on my #MeltTheIce hat, set to 8.5 dread level
