Here’s my latest commission. It was a pleasure to paint it was also a pleasure to meet this lovely family. The best thing about art for me is that it can connect people in a very meaningful way. This painting was handmade with love.
“Round & Round” oil on panel, 12x24ins. (2018) this poor fella is down on his luck hoping that next race will bring salvation. All the discarded betting slips on the floor showing that his big hasn’t happened yet.

“Heave Away” oil on panel, 22x16ins I made this painting about 10 years ago. It’s still one of my favourites, it just all went the way i wanted it too.
“Strong Backs” Oil on Panel, 18x12ins. Here’s to all the hard working people in the UK. It’s too hot for that stuff!
“Champion” Oil on Panel. I painted this imagining a boxer on a hot and muggy night, looking out the window at a city that doesn’t care for him, his arm is around his young daughter whom he desperately wants to be able to provide for. The current weather here in the UK brought it back to my mind
“Before my Time” Oil on Panel, 24x36ins I painted this about 8 years ago, it was intended to show the march of progress, good and bad.
“A Purpose” Here's a painting I made of post war London last year. I’m happy to say it found a new home this past weekend.
“A Meeting on the Beach” Oil on Panel, 10x15ins. Some moody guys on a moody beach in the rain.
“The Ionian Sea” Oil on Panel, 10x15ins. Based on an image I saw in a fav film of mine, I’ve messed around with it a bit to make this painting.
“The Window on the Lake” oil on panel, 15x10ins. I could imagine sitting by this window myself whilst I was painting it. Happily it went to a client and friend, so i’ll get to see it again.
“The Message” Oil on Panel, 15x10ins. I wanted to make a romantic but ambiguous painting set on a misty shoreline, there had to be dramatic seagulls too.
“All the fun of the Fair” 10x15ins oil on panel. He can hear the music, the rides, the people having fun on the pier. The sounds drift through the warm hazy sunshine, but he sits alone, poorly dressed for the weather with his flask of tea. He couldn’t be happier.

Lovely photo. I painted this recently based on post war photos, it’s fantastic seeing all the old properties mixed in with the businesses.

Bruising #NFL. I made this sketch in my breaks during a 10hr drive at the weekend. Certainly a challenge in a moving car but it turned out pretty well. I’ve gone for an early 50’s aesthetic, it’s a look I particularly love. No accurate anatomy here just fun action, shapes and lines
