10-12: Newer Super Mario Packs (Mastered) Lumping these together since they were all pretty similar, with the exception of Falling Leaf which had a bit more meat on the bone. These were the final ones I mastered for the event
9: Doctors Louis's Punch-Out!! (Mastered) Haven't really delved into the Punch-Out games all that much. This a fine little time, though it took me a bit longer than I should have to figure out the patterns of Doc lol
8: Excitebike World Rally (Mastered) Fun short little set. Time trials for platinum had a bit of challenge to them, but not really anything stressful. Probably the best of the Excitebike games from my experience.
7: Spy Fox in Dry Cereal (Mastered) Last of the HE Junior Adventures. This was at least the most competent port of the 3, as it actually retained all of the route variations you can go through. Still has a lot of the speed-up issues present in the other two though
6: Grill-Off with Ultra Hand (Mastered) ngl kind of cheesed this with a standard control scheme instead of motion controls. Gave it a good 15-20 minutes with actual Wii waggle, but it was a bit cumbersome to deal with
5: Freddi Fish: Kelp Seed Mystery (Mastered) Another shoddy HE Junior Adventure port. One thing I didn't mention earlier is that there is no variation with each playthrough with these two games.
4: Zelda: Twilight Princess (Mastered) Pretty basic set compared to the GameCube set. Only achievement that gave me trouble was getting a green chu made, but otherwise a pretty straightforward revisit (with waggle)
3: WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase (Mastered) Fun and relatively short experience. Used my Steam Deck and a stylus I had to get through this one and was a pretty interesting way to emulate the DS experience of the main game lol
2: Pajam Sam: Don't Fear the Dark (Mastered) A childhood favorite from the PC.....this was a very shit port to the Wii lol. A recurring trend with the HE Junior Adventure Wii ports is that they run somewhat faster, making the animations not sync up right and the music sounds way off.
1: Super Paper Mario (Mastered) This was 100% going to be my first mastery for Wii regardless of whether or not I participated in the event. Easy set, though 100%ing the game gets very grindy for the last few cards and recipes. Fun to play this on my Steam Deck without the motion controls though
Went and did the whole Wii launch event on RetroAchievements these past few months and got the Grandmaster badge. Thought I might just do a quick review for each game I mastered in this thread:
May 2026 Almost forgot to post the highlights this time lol. Got a PSP 1000 for cheap, but needs some work. Viewtiful Joe 2 was also a fun find while I was on vacation down on the beach.
April 2026 Strong month this year, and finally secured myself a Scalable Video Switch that just arrived in the mail lol
March 2026 Some good stuff this month. Played Wario Land 4 as a 3DS ambassador way back when. Never got around to finding a cart for a decent price until now lol
GL to everyone with GDQ submissions. Sadly, not submitting/going to SGDQ this year since I am trying to move sometime this year and finances aren't gonna line up with that lol. See y'all at AGDQ!
Gotta love the weather down here. We go from tornado watches all night, then to it suddenly snowing in the morning
February 2026 Light month, but I went and got the Resident Evil pack for Switch 2 Plus, bonus DKC2 lol
