Whether a company actually gets anywhere with AI isn't size or budget, it's whether they have a roadmap: the thing that comes out of a room full of the right people making real decisions about what matters, in what order, and who owns it. Source: SmarterX 2026 State of AI for Business Report
Hiring an assistant helped me tremendously but only once I started treating delegation like a system. I know the handoff is hard, so I created a roadmap to getting started with someone. This funky graphic summary shows what you’ll learn and get in my course tavlinconsulting.gumroad.com/l/mental-load
So excited for my friend Katie Sheketoff! Her book, Uncharted Leadership, is officially out today! If you’re leading through disruption you didn't choose (reorgs, AI, change that doesn't slow down) and what helped before isn’t helping now, you should definitely check it out: amzn.to/4otvH4L
I'm loud and proud about being both a mom and someone who focuses on my career and wrote about all that in Motherly recently. About the framework that finally helped me stop apologizing for the trade-offs every working parent is constantly making. Hope you enjoy it: www.mother.ly/career-money...
The biggest barrier to scaling AI and driving true adoption isn't “we don’t know enough” anymore. It's time. Your team is stuck because there is no time to stop, think and figure out how this actually changes the work. Source: SmarterX 2026 State of AI for Business Report
53% of orgs say they've moved past experimenting with AI but only 28% feel real momentum. It makes sense. Individuals just grab a tool and go. Orgs can't. Scaling AI means alignment, buy-in and culture change on top of everyone's actual job. Source: SmarterX 2026 State of AI for Business Report
The difference between a mediocre conference and a great one is entirely a mindset shift. From 'I'll see who I run into' to 'I'm going to actively connect' turns a passive conference into one that builds real relationships. Honored to be featured in HearstLab! www.linkedin.com/pulse/before...
Missing my kids this week but don't worry, I have the creepy 3d printed child-sized person they made to keep me company.
Today I found a single glove in this pile. (Yes. This pile.) This is the school lost and found. Hundreds of items, no system, no labels, sloped into one heap that everyone walks past because where would you even start. And I found the glove. Honestly? Unstoppable now. Send me your hardest problems.
So honored to be featured in this piece on female founder advice, full of gems on what no one warns you about when starting a business. Thank you WeRule and Dreamers & Doers! Check it out: we-rule.com/blog/female-...
That moment when you’ve accidentally planned too few breaks and pushed the group a little too far.
Last week's inaugural Fractional Women's Summit was everything we dreamed. Incredible women sharing mind-shifting information. A true sense of camaraderie and support. Where women actually engaged with one another in meaningful ways, and walked away thinking "wow, that day FLEW by.”
Next week I'm co-hosting the first ever Fractional Women's Summit. We have amazing speakers and tracks, but what I'm most excited about is what we've built in between. Friction-free moments designed to get people into real, substantive conversation. Ping me for an invite.
I have strong opinions about how conferences miss the mark on connection. The Fractional Women's Summit is doing things differently. Offering the opportunity to share the room with others building something great, with real and creative ways to actually engage with one another. DM for more info.
Honored to be published on one of my favorite topics: MEETINGS. We're all in them, run them, attend them and mostly, hate on them. Check out my piece on why your meetings are failing and what to do about it. Huge thank you to Dreamers and Doers! Full article: www.fastcompany.com/91503434/her...
Sometimes you just need to have fun with AI. I prompted: "A leadership team at an offsite, but as if they're in a Dr. Seuss book." Hilarious, but also a good reminder: people remember what made them feel something, and that’s not fluff when you’re trying to create alignment and decisions.
Honored and excited to be heading out tomorrow to NTEN's annual conference in Detroit to speak about AI! Who will I see there?
Honored to be speaking THIS WEEK at the Jewish Digital Summit sharing my remote manager's playbook. I've been managing remote and hybrid teams for 16 years (yes, SIXTEEN) so this topic is near and dear to me. It's virtual, so there's still time to grab your tickets! Hope to see you there :-)
I saw this and immediately took a picture. #obsessed A little free TARDIS library!! (littlefreelibrary.org) I debated a deeper post... but at the end of the day? It brought me joy. And we could all use those mini-moments amidst the chaos. When something makes you smile, pause and appreciate it.
Only 26% of tech workers see their managers as highly effective (Lenny's Newsletter surveyed 8,000+ tech workers). Most managers are trying—they just lack support. Offsites are one place this shows up, where "more of the same" reinforces ineffectiveness. Want offsites that land? Let's talk.
Snow storm week at our house = living room fort building. What got me: same blankets and cushions we've always had, but my kids have never built the same fort twice in 7 years. It's a good reminder that the best outcomes come from reimagining for NOW, not defaulting to what worked last time.
What a fun surprise! Thank you Dreamers & Doers for spotlighting Parent Driven Development and the conversations that remind parents they’re not alone. Check out the article here: www.dreamersdoers.com/leading-visi... and give the podcast a listen if you get a chance: www.parentdrivendevelopment.com
My holiday break highlight? Making family vision boards. After convincing them last year, it turns out they loved it and asked ME to do it again. Applauding myself as both a mom and a facilitator because if you can get your family into something, you can pretty much get anyone into anything.
I've been busy... Chiefx in NYC, The Linux Foundation’s JSConf and Chiefx in DC. Women are claiming our multi-hyphenate identities as strategists, educators, fractional executives, fixers, all at the same time. We re-imagine, create, and impact positive change and forward momentum.
