Zoony’s Dad

Still not the hero of my own story. Loving living in France. Chorizo Hound wrangler.
This is very definitely a swallow - white underbelly and all. Swifts are generally dark all over, but swallows and martins are (relatively) similarly coloured. It’s a great shot, all the same!
It was in the high 30s, and he chose to do this. He’s a Good Boy. (He was originally arrested in Madrid, before he came to stay at our expense, and the heat seems to bother him less. He came inside when it eventually got too much)
The local Commune staff do a really good job of making the village look good each year. This is the bridge over the Vienne leading out of the village:
This man married us. (If you know what I mean…)(but not quite there😁) They should use this in their advertising.
Mrs ZD has decreed, (because we *really* need to cut down on our alcohol intake) that we will only be drinking outdoors for the summer. Not sure it’s going to have much effect, tbh. And it’s going to get wet at some point…
It’s hot. Mrs ZD has just put some ice into the Chorizo Hound’s water bowl. The Chorizo Hound is now convinced she’s trying to poison him..
So, expensive new fly screen arrives, fitted and shortened to length. Some initial worries that the Chorizo Hound may have his nose put out of joint, alleviated by the now traditional obedience pill bribe. TCH now so relaxed about fly screen that he’s made a gap for the flies…🙄
That looks more like a part-grown colorado beetle than a ladybird, to me.
Also, not saying the French have a subtle way of remembering/ reminding us of it, but this is a typical rond-point in Normandy:
Nearly drove into the back of the (stopped, at a roundabout) car in front the other day, too busy looking at one of these. Which are meant to deter accidents…
A fine example of the difference between film and written media: Nothing I have read in the past 20 years paints elves in a good light:from *Lords And Ladies* to *No Man’s Land* and everything in between, Elves are Bad.
