Bees in the rain are tied with hummingbirds in the rain as one of my favorite activities to witness. I couldn't get good footage of the three hummingbirds who frequent the yard (one sports a mohawk!), but here is a bee friend enjoying the hyssop. 🐝🪻🐝🪻
We're halfway through summer and Lana Del Rey is whispering the blues in my ears. So Chocolate Cake w/Chocolate Ganache to take the edge off human existence.
Butter Mochi with a Passion Fruit Glaze...light, mildly chewy, not too sweet with a gorgeous pop of tropical fruit balanced by vanilla and butter. This is a classic Hawaiian dessert and my new favorite. Bonus! It's gluten free.
I'm excited by the native plants, fruits, & veggies in our yard that provide food to birds and pollinators -- including our mighty pokeweed. It's a complicated plant, unless you're one of the many songbirds who love its berries or the many southerners who cook down the leaves for delicious greens.

The cake I made for Dingo Dog Brewing Company today! I went all early 80's and decorated it the way my mom did Easter cakes when my brother and I were little. The bake is lemon cake infused with homemade lemon simple syrup, frosted with coconut buttercream. Sweeter than usual, but tis the season!
