"I have a good excuse for not coming into work this morning: I died in a ship three years ago. I just got my body back from the shop."
Look, he might be an alien, but he can't be 26 of them at once. #MLB #FuturesGame
Couple cute shots of the current #Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, when he was 9 years old (talking to a KABC reporter) and 5 years (in a cluster with Pete Rose, Tug McGraw and his father, along with the kids of Rose and McGraw and his brother Bret. (Star-Gazette via AP, 3/11/1979; LA Times, 8/8/1982)
Also, El Nuevo Pais, a Venezuelan newspaper made this:
Tarik Skubal becomes the 513th pitcher to give up 10 HR to the #Yankees with the 1st inning bomb by Ben Rice. He joins a 76-way tie for 438th place.
I'm checking through papers. I have a junior league game from June 1917, but minors so far none. I have also apparently found the stolen base wet dream game from April 20, 1993.

With his blast in the 2nd, George Springer becomes the 121st player to hit 20 home runs or more against the #Yankees, jumping into an 18-way tie for 104th place all time. There are names on this list.
Despite it all, he was gracious, returning to the dugout the next day after telling Ed Barrow and Joe McCarthy about the official diagnosis. #Yankees (The Tribune, Scranton PA, June 22, 1939)
Despite it, he was cheerful and even went to a birthday party on June 20. His diagnosis was announced to the world the next day. His attitude was very opposite of his teammates and Yankee executives. Ed Barrow noted that there had been issues since 1937 and that he had played through it. (Ibid.)
All the testing resulted in a diagnosis the next week of chronic poliomyelitis (known as post-polio syndrome) and chronic infantile paralysis (polio). They also diagnosed him with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. #Yankees (Florida Times Union via AP, June 22, 1939)
Gehrig was understandably treated like a celebrity when he made it to Rochester, Minnesota on June 13, 1939. Reporters, kids, and others were hounding him, and his attitude towards the goings on were incredibly positive. (Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN, June 14, 1939) #Yankees
Today marks the 87th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's final ever baseball game. At a crowd in Kansas City, Lou played 3 innings against the Kansas City Blues. It was his first game since May 2. He went to the Mayo Clinic the next evening and well, the rest is unfortunate history. #yankees
