i heard this snippet of a song days ago and it has been PLAGUING me. i FINALLY remembered the song! 😅 (guess i’m now passing it on to you, lol)
the sun is setting, but i got lights! (at least they have batteries, unlike the power blocks i have which i apparently hadn’t charged up in awhile. oops 🫠)
rewatching Paris is Burning for thousandth time 😄 (this rewatch though is b/c i am assigning it for class for the first time - i am looking forward to my students’ thoughts on the sociology of Paris is Burning!)

working on putting together a five week course on Race, Class, and Gender that starts Monday. i’m getting stuck deciding what to include - there’s so much more to cover than we have time for!
turns out the wasps built a nest in the bathroom vent! 😬 finally got someone out here - they were actually able to remove the nest instead of exterminating. now there’s just a tarped-over square hole in the bathroom ceiling that they had to cut out to get to the nest - but better than the wasps!
okay i DID just look up pics of yellow jackets to compare against this pic of the one in my apartment and it does definitely appear to be what this is (like i would know better than the experts at the bee/wasp removal place, lol) okay, i am legit done looking up bee/wasp stuff for the evening!!!
the bee situation in my apartment has not improved 😭 i thought the spray i used helped - but looked in today and instead of one or two, found this 🫠 i’d joked the other day about them being sent by Candyman 🙃 i am currently awaiting a call back from a “bee-friendly” removal place 🤞
…up in this space specifically - there’s a small gap at the top. they don’t seem aggressive so I’ve just been trying to open the door and get them out. but i need to do more since they keep appearing. (it’s a storage room at the moment so i’ve just been keeping the door to the room closed)…
two weeks after Little Fish’s diagnosis. we just got back from his first round of fluid therapy. it went well. (now just have to master trying to do it at home! 😬) the vet tech said he’ll likely have a burst of kitten energy tomorrow from feeling better 🩷
they also had a bunch of fidget stuff available and i immediately grabbed this one 😁
as i predicted, i did not get proper sleep for today’s conference 🤷🏻♀️ - but it was a great experience. and the hosting campus was very cool 🤩
