Yikes. Had more torrential rain last night (and more storm incoming this evening), which brings us up to 408mm in the past 45 days (531mm for the yr so far). Apparently, our ave precipitation for the ENTIRE year is 423mm. And of course, the mosquitos are loving it 😒
Another heavy rain storm early this afternoon, adding more water to already flooded areas. Sun did come back out, but clouds were already rolling in again by the end of my walk. Path selection definitely limited today due to flooding... or geese 😁.
Poor plants! 😢 They’re looking a little rough and soggy, but they’ll bounce back.
Insane winds out there. Haven’t seen a storm like this in a very long time.
A busy afternoon working in the yard, so I now have my feet up listening to all the chatter around me. Everyone’s well hidden in the trees, but sure wonderful to listen to 🎶
As storm pond flooding rises and spreads up the pond banks, trees can be seen standing in water, and red-necked grebe/and american coot nests (usually, partially hidden by reeds at the pond edges), can be seen sitting much further out in the water. #JuneRain
We have flooding from too much rain, AND wildfire smoke from areas around us, not getting enough rain 😳😭
A couple of coots making babies, and some loud frogs enjoying the flooded marsh.
These were cool to see, and the first time I’ve ever come across them. Wild rose hips, infected with rose rust fungus, which thrive during warm, damp spells. And we’ve got more damp weather coming thru the wknd. Apparently, we’re on the verge to break our 112 year old June rainfall record 😬😳☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️
Many roses blooming along a public path after all the rain we’ve had. Smells amazing.
Storm ponds filling up again with yesterdays and todays heavy rain.☔️☔️☔️
Well camouflaged on the hillside leading down to the pond, a hare sits in the long grass.
The guards were out on both sidewalks leading to the footbridge, where an afternoon outing was being held.
Woke up very early this morning and noticed a strange glow on my window frame. Took a peek outside and… 😍😍😍😍😍
After many rainy/cloudy days, it feels wonderful enjoying a big, beautiful blue sky and sunshine.☀️😎
Columbine and bleeding heart flowers doing well in my garden after all the rain we’ve had.
Enjoying coffee on the porch after some weeding and trimming in the yard. A 50% chance of rain turned into a very warm, sunny day, and the wind is keeping the mosquitos away. ☕️😊
