Today in college parent impairment chat

At the local Cal poly sendoff it was mentioned that it is important to have trash bag liners for the trash cans in the dorms. but when asked what size the only answer was a shrug “standard”. When asked to clarify the only response was “like you might find in an office but bigger than you might find in a bathroom”

Does anyone know what size trash bags to get? In terms of actual sizes that are used when purchasing like how many gallons the trash cans are?

At the Pentagon this week Pete Hegseth and Stephen Miller put Mexican Border Defense campaign medals around the necks of soldiers as if they were Medals of Honor. Campaign medals: awarded to every single service member serving in campaign regardless of individual achievement.

Hegseth and Miller put medals meant to be pinned to one's chest around the necks of two soldiers.

It's a shame DOD/Centcom stopped crediting military photographers by name on the images and videos coming out of 5th fleet. These sailors and Marines are doing some great work and deserve more credit than "U.S. Navy photo."

Centcom stated Saturday that the flagship delivered about 3,500 sailors and Marines from the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, along with “transport and strike fighter aircraft, as well as amphibious assault and tactical assets.”

The Pentagon last week reportedly sped up the deployment of thousands more Marines and two warships to the region. The San Diego-based USS Boxer, carrying at least 2,200 Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, departed Wednesday and is less than a month away from reaching the Centcom area."

The "thousands" of San Diego-based Marines everyone was falling over themselves to report being rush-deployed to the Middle East in March STILL haven't made it to the Middle East.
