I have arrived home for Christmas

Both dogs now sit on my bed, looking at the camera as though to challenge that it is indeed mine. They have not seen the inside of the guest room in a year, and are utterly befuddled.

The smaller dog (the white one) lays on her back on my bed, overwhelmed enough by the Strange Room with its New Bed that she has forgotten that she is upset at my presence. I take the opportunity to give her belly rubs.

Just for a bit of levity on the timeline, I want to strongly recommend The Hotspot (ホットスポット) on Netflix. Just incredible writing and comedic delivery in the two episodes I've watched so far. Can't wait to watch the rest.

Oh FUCK yeah

A chicken tagine, in which whole chicken legs have been slow stewed in a butter and red onion sauce before being finished in the broiler. The skin on the legs is perfectly crispy, and the legs are nestled down into the sauce. The tagine lid, resting against the base, is white with an attractive blue pattern decorating it.
