DNFed Butter for the second time. Read the plot summary. Sounds like the plot doesn't really pick up and the prose isn't holding this butter stick up on it's own. Going to On Sundays She Picked Flowers as I want more gothic after watching Marama.
Wrapped up the Twilight book last night and picking up Butter again today.
Accidentally double featured women's revenge, burning houses, featuring Erroll Strand movies today. Suggest Evil Dead Burn for Evil Dead and/or action horror fans. Recommend Marama for Gothic Horror fans. 🖤🖤🖤
I have pulled 26 books I want off my shelves by the end of 2026. I don't have to read them, but I do want to read enough to DNF.
Final update. They were I guess never going to tell me that they weren't fulfilling the order anytime remotely near the time chosen.
I love that I am not able to easily cancel this order. I requested to be able to chat with someone and they said they will *try* to get me a chat link.
Once again went to the library to let them know I am a huge nerd who reads a lot and I deserve the special prize.
Received the advanced reader copy of The Red Sacrament by Sarah Hinkley from Titan Books. Beautiful prose, great narration, but sadly mostly vibes ultimately.

Finished the ARC of the Red X rerelease and I highly suggest checking it out if you like queer fiction and horror. Modern classic, but heavy.
Erectile disfunction is an oddly large part of this book. 80% in and I 0% recommend reading it.

I do not know how to recommend Wolf Worm by T Kingfisher without giving something away, but if you are okay with buggy horror I highly recommend.
Halfway through the year, 89 books down, here are my favorite books so far. Leaps and bounda ahead of others is Bewitching. I really hated Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno Garcia, so I am very happy I gave her a second chance.
