Remote Viewer/Hood. All that kind of loser stuff during the 90/00s indie wars. City Centre Offices, Domino, Slumberland etc but now essentially just in the waiting room for God’s waiting room.
I sit down on the halfway line )as opposed to standing behind the goals) for pre season matches. It’s a whole different ball game.
There was a thread on IG about the worse the album artwork on a reggae album, the better the album will be. And whilst this cover isn’t an *absolute* stinker it’s probably an acquired taste! The album however is unequivocally 100% brilliant.
Where you from etc. Watching the entirety of a concept album is a tough sell to a 51 year old bloke. But cmon. You’re listening to The Streets.
Repping my son’s, I don’t know, throw up?, I just keep watch, from last weekend.
The Streets on Friday in Manchester. Stanley vs Rovers on Saturday. Son has been busy on the printer.
Interrupting the usual dub techno sunday session to treat the fam to some spliced up glitch hop. Or whatever it was.
Think u know the mid 90s Leeds pop underground. I was there and the houses were rubbish ( me looking like my son having my breakfast in Burley, hood in London, Hem (proto Empress) at the packhorse.
Getting ready to drop the least anticipated trio of weather beaten ambient rubbish of the year.
These kids. A small but incredibly productive crew over the pond banging out stuff that my son loves whilst repping The remote viewer and Famous Boyfriend. You love to see it.
Via Greg Neate on Instagram. Would *you* listen to a band that looked like this lol.
Car wouldn’t start outside the house Monday morning. Wife tried for about 40 minutes. No luck. Didn’t have AA home start. 103 quid to join on the spot. Bloke comes and starts it first time. Over to Craig’s to record some more songs and stick em on Bandcamp. It’s what Jon Hopkins would probably do.
Think this must be from a Kevin Cummins photoshoot. Just oozes class.
Mine and Craig’s farewell speech after our last ever Hood gig. Supporting Mogwai in Dijon I think!
Off over to Wales to celebrate Lynsey’s birthday in what became a lightening flecked heatwave!
Had a sit in a field all day and night and look at the hills itch I needed to scratch. Feel better now.
Surely on any of the “just stop” ones the players name has to rhyme with “oil” (we have Coyle at Stanley!) You’d approve of this Rovers one I reckon!
Don’t usually dig the viynlz out for socials but inspired today to give a shout out to how well this Manual album has aged. Could well be worth investigating if you’ve never heard and have a bit of a BOC kink.
Child, wife, friends, football. The important things. Over to you Autechre.
www.dublab.com/archive/peak... I listened to this as it was broadcast. My wife went to bed. My son was still up. I sent him the link but he said he couldn’t be arsed listening. A nice mix of dub/reggae classic, modern, analogue, digital, banging and subdued. I really enjoyed it.
Many thanks to @brianfoote.bsky.social of INCENDIARY label Peak Oil (Purelink, Paperclip Minimiser etc… I mean cmon) for inviting me to try my hand at a mix for their @dublab.bsky.social show. I’ve patched together an exclusively shades of dub edition in a typically amateur way!
