Green economy champion. Into industrial strategy, trade, innovation and environment policy. Bit of my heart always in Germany, Derbyshire, Scotland, Canada, East of England, Trinidad, Jamaica and on a rugby pitch. Now in London.
The response has been amazing so far, there have been over 1,500 screenings of the film and there are more in the pipeline, 137 MP have already sign up to call from a televised briefing, and an open letter to the PM in the FT
Great piece by @suepritch.bsky.social in the Observer today "Farmers facing escalating bills for fuel and fertilizers need help. Yet every pound spent on on recovery is a pound not spent on preparing for a changing economy or climate"

Some evidence of ineffective split ticket voting in my ward which failed to coalesce around an alternative to the conservatives who are dominant in this bit of Wandsworth. Seems like an argument for at least a list system when there are multiple candidates
The National Emergency Briefing film - featuring a sweary Jennifer Saunders and experts on the climate crisis - is screening in my back yard on Tues 28th April. Come along and bring a friend who wouldn't normally come to 'this sort of thing'. www.nebriefing.org/the-film
Screenings of The People’s Emergency Briefing began today and are already planned in all 650 constituencies of the UK and @sioldridge.bsky.social and @nickoldridge.bsky.social have requests to show or make equivalent films overseas! We are going to need a bigger map! www.nebriefing.org/screening-map
Proud to have joined the biggest anti fascist march in London today #Together
Oh God, What Now? is always good, but this episode, with @zoegrunewald.bsky.social @jonnelledge.bsky.social and Ian Hughes, author of Disordered Minds, is exquisite! Why are we in thrall to cruel and dangerous leaders and what can stop them. Essential listening www.podbean.com/media/share/...

Well done HM Government, this is an important and clear eyed assessment of the consequences of nature loss and ecosystem collapse. Shows we need to work with partners overseas to support sustainable and resilient food production and nature restoration.

I am #6,178,997! Not impressive now but I will look like one of the founding fathers in a month or two!
I remember the speech at the time and its subtle (not so subtle) rationale for ethnic nationalism....but good to read it again and see JD Vance among the 'intellectuals' cited!
Took good advice not look for my summer reading from 2024 lists - I haven't read all the great books already out there and the really good stuff will still be being recommended years later. - and it led me to Opal & Nev by Dawnie Watson which I strongly recommend
