I want to give some love to Robot Dreams. It's still one of the biggest animated films of this decade that both made my heart sing and ripped it apart at the same time. It's a beautiful and yet melancholic film and one of my favorites of the decade so far.

I found out not too long ago that the famous scene with Mufasa's ghost in The Lion King was mainly designed by Chris Sanders and I found concept art of his work on that scene. It explained so much when I found out.

Fifteen years ago today, Winnie the Pooh was released. The latest hand-drawn film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, this is such a lovable take on the silly old bear which has some great animation and songs as well as a lot of hilarious humor. I really love this one.

Sony Pictures Animation has officially confirmed they’re making a fifth Hotel Transylvania. The film will be titled The Haunting Of Hotel Transylvania and will be released on October 5, 2027. I’m surprised they’re making another one, but I guess we’ll see how this turns out.

Andreas Deja animated some great characters at Disney Animation. Such a talent.

Forty years ago today, The Great Mouse Detective was released. One of Walt Disney Animation Studios' most lovable films of the 80s, this clever take on Sherlock Holmes really is a fun charmer with a clever story, great animation, and lovable characters alongside a great villain.

A new poster for Cartoon Saloon's next film Julián just dropped and my hype for this film is through the roof. I love how colorful the animation looks from the studio once again and to see them tackle a very queer story has me even more excited. I can't wait to see this!

Minions and Monsters is a delightful surprise. While its first half is stronger than its second, it’s the first Minions film that really worked for me thanks to its sincere tribute to film history, goofy comedy, and hilarious hijinks. I had fun. I’ll give you my full review soon.

Gotta love some classic Tom and Jerry.

One animated short I always love watching is Disney Animation's Lorenzo and it's mainly because of the animation alone. I always love the hand-painted look of the short which really complements the goofy story well.

Pixar just released a new piece of art from Gatto today at Annecy. Man, the fact that this is exactly what the film is going to look like has me so hyped and it really is giving me the same vibes that Ratatouille gave me. I can't wait to see what Enrico Casarosa does with this!

One of the biggest reasons Lilo and Stitch works so well in retrospect is easily Daveigh Chase as Lilo. She's able to really inject so much energy to make her quirky and odd while also sweet and lovable. It's a lot of great range. I'm still heartbroken over what happened.

And so it's my birthday once again.

Illumination has announced their next film which will be an original film titled Not Alone. It stars Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez and follows a mechanic & astronaut who hide three aliens that come to Earth for safety. The film releases on April 16, 2027.

Thirty years ago today, The Hunchback of Notre Dame was released. One of Disney Animation's darkest films, this adaptation of Victor Hugo's story of a man wanting to be accepted is lovely thanks to its powerful story, beautiful animation, great characters, and incredible music.

The art that Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois drew for Daveigh really hit me hard. God, it's so sad what happened to her. No one played Lilo as well as her.

Here's some concept art of Miles Morales from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse drawn by Shiyoon Kim. I am so curious and hyped to see how his arc ends in Beyond next year.

Toy Story 5 is another exceptional entry in Pixar’s long running franchise. While it may not reach the highs of earlier entries, it has plenty of merit with its themes, animation, and especially the way they expanded Jessie. I loved it. I’ll give you my review very soon.

Five years ago today, Luca was released. One of Pixar's coziest and sweetest films, this simple story indulges with its summer slice of life charms, its Ghibli-inspired animation, and also just a loveable cast of characters. I hope Pixar makes more small scale films like it.

I'm absolutely devastated and shocked to hear that Daveigh Chase passed away yesterday at the age of 35. Chase really did such wonderful work voicing Lilo in Lilo and Stitch in Chihiro in Spirited Away and her legacy will really live in those films. Such a massive loss.

Elemental really is such a sweet film from Pixar and the romance between Ember and Wade really was so sweet and lovely. I'm glad it's found an even bigger audience now because it deserves it. It's just such a heartfelt film.

Aardman's founders, Peter Lord and David Sproxton, have officially been knighted by the king. Given their wonderful achievements for stop motion animation as well as standing up for their artists, this is a wonderful honor for both!

Considering that the Knicks won the NBA Championship, it seems like 22 has finally gotten her Earth pass and has finally made the leap to Earth. It was about time it happened.

And in retaliation because of how much he hated him, Jackson had his artists model one of the orcs after Harvey. A fine wine that gets better with age.

The Academy has announced that it will award Floyd Norman an Honorary Academy Award. Given his important status in animation which includes being the first African American animator to work at Disney and the many films he helped work on, this is such a well deserved honor!
