my active WIP is for an exchange so i can't share anything from that for #wipwednesday but here's another snippet of nanami's belated bday fic which i have decided will go up for the canon divergence/fluff day of @jjkrarepairfest.bsky.social 🥰 (All!Nanami, endgame NanaKuna)

Ellipsus snippet:

Kugisaki curses. "I wish I had gotten that on video, or at least a picture. That was the hottest thing I think you've ever done." Her eyes light up as she turns towards Fushiguro.

"Absolutely not," he says, definitively. She pouts. "It's bad enough Gojo is putting him through this on his birthday of all days, we don't need to make it worse. Besides, I'm not convinced it has to be a kiss on the lips."

Nanami is always impressed by Fushiguro's logical analysis and pragmatism. He's also mildly concerned with where the Ten Shadows user is going with this. "What do you mean?"

"I want to try something," he declares, stepping into Nanami's space much as the others had. His partners gasp, scandalized. "Nothing like /that/, you perverts. Get your minds out of the gutter." Kugisaki and Yuuji giggle anyway. Nanami braces himself for whatever Fushiguro has in mind, but he trusts the younger man more than he does most of the sorcerers in his own cohort.

nanami day was almost two weeks ago and i got 2k into a fic for him before shit hit the fan over the holiday weekend. i am now 4k into it and somehow it is still not done. (All!Nanami, Everyone Lives, current year AU, Human Sukuna, nnkn endgame, snippet is implied nng tho)

Ellipsus snippet:

Two seconds later, there’s a loud /POP/ in his living room. The shock of Gojo being courteous enough not to teleport directly into his bedroom is almost enough to bring Nanami to forgive him. /Almost./ He grabs a pair of sweats off the chair in the corner and makes himself somewhat decent before storming out to face his so-called best friend.

“Why?” he asks, holding the wrist with the offending object in full view, just in case Gojo wants to feign ignorance at the last second.

“Would it kill you to trust that I only have your best interests at heart?” His ridiculously long, pale lashes flutter behind his tinted shades, and Nanami grits his teeth against the sentimentality that threatens to stir in his chest every time Gojo gives him That Look.

“You gave me a /cursed object/ as a birthday gift,” he growls. “Trust is in short supply right now.”

“Oh it’s not that bad. Look, as long as you fulfill the vow in the time limit, it’ll come off easy peasy!”

ellipsus snippet: Sukuna observes from the rafters when the brat makes his way into the vast open chamber he had claimed for his hoard. The glittering gold and jewels seem to distract him from his goal, at least momentarily. He casually circles the massive pile, his whistle dipping low and appreciative. Sukuna can't resist preening with pride, even hidden up in the shadows as he is. It's a good hoard, if he does say so himself. The knight is prettier in person, and Sukuna stands by his earlier assessment that he would make a fine addition.

Shame he'll have to eat him instead.

TEXT: Yuuji's feet carry him further down the hall. He makes a mental note to check on Junpei's fish on his way home. After his visit with another Enforcer in his division.

He stops outside Sukuna's door and taps on the keypad to request entry. He could use his authority as an Inspector to barge in without knocking first, but he doesn't like to violate his Enforcer's privacy that way unless it's an emergency or he has otherwise reasonable cause. Besides, he'd learned his lesson. His ears still burn when he thinks of the first and last time he'd entered Sukuna's domain without announcing himself.

Then again, maybe he hasn't learned a thing at all.

If he had, he wouldn't keep coming back.

TEXT: “I think,” he licked his lips to give himself a moment to collect his thoughts. Imagining Oikawa with a boyfriend stirred a confusing flurry of emotions within him. Disbelief being the foremost. He /couldn’t/ picture it, not really. Oikawa was too headstrong, too obsessed with perfection and being the best at his craft, to settle down and date anyone seriously. But if it was what he wanted… “I think my opinion is the last one that matters here. I think if you like him, if you really want this, there’s no reason not to go for it. What do you have to lose?”

it's not wednesday but have a WIP from the next chapter of Mirror Image. would like to get this one out by the end of the month 🙏

TEXT: Movies don’t scare him.

Even as a kid, he knew there were scarier things than the monsters on TV. Those monsters weren’t real. He’d stared the real monsters in the face and walked away with his head held high. In fact the only thing that made him scurry for his covers was thunder.

The atmosphere in the apartment is heavy, not unlike the air before a storm.

He turns off the kettle and pours the hot water over three prepared mugs. Maybe he shouldn’t have left Yuuji alone in the living room with his estranged mother, but he couldn’t find a reasonable excuse not to offer tea to their unexpected guest. Yuuji had been the one to invite her in, though to Megumi’s ear it was more polite reflex than a genuine desire to entertain her. Still, it was only natural to want to give them space for a few minutes and neither mother nor son objected when he excused himself to make the tea.

Maybe that silence was the warning sign.
