Well my sweet little garden got rocked by the hailstorm yesterday evening. Tons of damage but overall I don’t think I completely lost anything. Just lots of broken branches and flower stems. Hopefully the sun these next few days will give everything the boost it needs.
The rest of my garden is thriving! The heat has been so good for everything. Just waiting on my Malabar spinach to take off and grow up the trellis in my lettuce bin. Cucumbers are starting to go off! Many of my tomatoes are 2ft tall already. Incredible!
Watermelon/pumpkin trellis update! All three watermelon plants are reaching the trellis and the pumpkins are on their way. One of the watermelons is nearly half way up already! It’s been fun training them up! The leaves are really growing big on these early hot days of the season.
That looks great! What are you growing up them? You can reinforce with some garden twine if you feel like you need extra support. I used garden twine to trellis my cucumbers across this little walkway last year and it worked great.
