Haven't seen this addressed: Do NOT look at the sun during these smoky haze days.It isn't safe for your eyes.
On this day, we remember our fallen service members with reflection, respect, and humble gratitude.
#Earthday 💚🌎💚 Happy Earthday! I wrote this in 1974, when Earthday was in its infancy. Concern for our environment remains a priority yet today! Because it's the only home we have.
I wrote this after the Columbia Shuttle disaster, as a tribute to everyone involved in our space program through the years. I dedicate it today with the newest endeavor with Artemis, with a special nod to the crew in the last verse. Well done! Well done!
To my family and friends and all who observe this holiday, hope your Easter day is bright and beautiful!
For me, my disdain began many years prior with his battle with Vera Coking for her home in Atlantic City, but the mocking of the disabled reporter cemented his irredeemably cruel character.
"Imminent." These guys really need to open a dictionary before opening their mouths.
I'm sharing this poem I wrote 20 years ago while assessing my life's path & values as I marked my reaching the milestone birthday of a half century. Every year since I wrote it, I find this is an even more meaningful reaffirmation of who I am, still true today. #poetry
"...as legend tells the story, if the purest light of day casts a shadow from the groundhog, spring is still six weeks away; nonetheless, should dawn arrive, and not a shadow can be seen, winter's grip is soon to end, And earth will turn an early green." excerpt from my story, Gordy's Groundhog Day
Article 2, Section 4 of the Constitution does provide for just that scenario IF convicted in an impeachment trial of "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."
From 10 yrs ago, January 2016: Nothing like fresh carrots from the garden, especially in mid-January! Planted late (June) & left to over-winter, then thought I'd go after them between freezes (last week the ground was hard as a rock). Very aromatic, sweet & tender. Should make a tradition!
He's quite mistaken on his authority. It will catch up with him.
Regardless of intent or purpose, this WAS, by definition, an INVASION. Somebody get that child a dictionary!
Long ago, at the local fair, a blind man sat & played accordian with his shepherd dog at his side, & in appreciation, people would drop change into his tin cup. I never knew his name, but his memory has lingered, very often a point of reflection on life. In 1980, that memory inspired this poem/song.
I prefer this edited photo with a more appropriate version of old Ketchup-face's portrait. Be sure to read the accompanying ALT text.
Happy Thanksgiving! This historical marker is in my hometown of York, PA, from where Contintental Congress proclaimed the First National Thanksgiving in November 1777.
Those aren't too appealing, even as a novelty. I've done a chicken cake, so a turkey is doable. Not hard, but takes time.
In loving & grateful remembrance of my father, George Ivanish, on this Veterans Day, and with special appreciation for my Uncles Andy, Mike, & Bob, as well as friends and all others who have so honorably served our country...THANK YOU. Dad was proudly part of the ANTIFA effort in WWII, as I am now.
The East Wing is a more recent addition & not quite so old, BUT it still has much historical merit and even if rebuilt, it'll never garner the same awe as regarding the original because of those who literally walked its halls. Attached is a brief history from Wikipedia (Is the bunker going, too?).
