Lives in Leicestershire, UK. Two (adult) kids, one with very complex needs. Access Consultant for arts and sports. Teacher of fabulous students. Loves theatre, cinema, gardening, books, cooking.
We've both been recovering this evening, along with Rex (a puppet but my arms aren't long enough to puppet & photo!)
One of the great joys this time of year is early evening in the garden, with a G&T, watching the bumblebees exploring the foxgloves. Particularly satisfying as I only planted these foxgloves this year so hadn't expected them to flower - & then they flowered late, after last year's had finished.
Well, it might be tricky for the rest of us, but my buddleia is adoring the heat....
And, at the Star Wars Toys @leicestermuseums.bsky.social exbn, loved the bit about the local Urban Story/Urban Myth/Urban Legend that there is megabucks worth of classic Star Wars Toys, in their original packaging, discarded when Hasbro closed, in a Leicester landfill somewhere...waiting to be found
Had a lovely hour or so at @leicestermuseums.bsky.social looking at the Star Wars Toys exbn. Absolutely fascinating & amazing fun. It took me right back to my cousin's collection of Star Wars figures in 1977 &, later, my youngest's obsession with Star Wars!
Loving my Rock Rose. The first flowers only started a few days ago & now it's going mad!
Tom alongside a cut-out of David Attenborough, at Attenborough Arts Centre. AAC is the Arts Centre of University of Leicester - the Attenborough brothers grew up on its campus - & Tom & I both met Richard Attenborough when he opened the Centre.
Loving this April Fool in today's Metro. Armchairs & phone holders in shopping carts - am well up for that!
The first of the Camellias is out & looking gorgeous. And I'm pretty sure that the others won't be far behind!
@michaelhogan100.bsky.social Just got the new season brochure for local theatre. Guess who's front & centre......
Yay! The village has Christmas decorations for the first time in years & Rudolf The Gas Mask Reindeer is back!
Well, my sister & her fabulous #TheDogWalkersDetectiveAgency pumpkin has completely outclassed my efforts, but the kids & I (+ Fe's gf) had a lot of fun doing ours!
I absolutely loved the exhibition. I'll definitely be going back - & probably more than once. And this poem is perfect for the times we live in. #WeGrownUpsCanAlsoBeAfraid
Had a lovely evening at #LightUpLeicester. Some fantastic installations & a gorgeous atmosphere, despite the cold. And was so happy to bump into a couple of old friends too.
On our way to De Montfort Hall for Tom's Drama Company panto, 'Terri & The Seven Trolls'. My Rock Troll is looking good....
Had a stunning visit to 'Space; Lumuralis at Leicester Cathedral'. Absolutely stunning!
