Poet. Dramatic but lazy. Wistfully nonchalant. Passionately disinterested in oxymorons.
First time I saw this man perform he talked the ears off us at a Bob Dylan concert— but to hear him sing! Glorious. Last time I saw him was at a pub lock-in in Dublin, where he got everyone up to sing with him & made magic of a mundane evening. What a gem, we'll miss you Glen. 😓😓 💔💔💔
The wind had left the city chasing after a dream, it flew over rivers & o'er the fields of green— by the time it reached the meadow it was but a breeze. With its final breath it blew away a seed that landed in the city, blooming beautifully— just as the wind had dreamed. #fromoneline 419
Our souls found each other as if across the bar in a smoky jazz club I was amused by his scintillating words, seeing the ruse yet falling regardless his eyes, a mirror reflecting my own shady soul the night was a jar to fill with our indulgences & on his lips I found my favourite vice #inkmine
As sweethearts we were indiscreet— every look betrayed our secret the slightest graze of hands as indecent as greedy fingers reaching for a forbidden treat perhaps that's why we liked it— as if our very connection was clandestine as if us, together, was a plan even fate wasn't in on. #inkmine
When I was rudely conscribed to the phalanx of the human race, they gave me an epithet— Easily Distressed, they said, approach with caution— I quickly learned that I just say the quiet part out loud, that living is hard and nothing soothes like honesty. #InkMine

Was it sin to wish for Eden? Was it folly to indulge in so many languorous hours with you? Yes, perhaps, an egregious crime to spend time so lavishly but that wonderful melody we made— I still play it when life aggravates & in my mind, sit with you a while, in the garden of Eden. #inkmine
Writing poetry can be a messy business where the mind presents a mishmash of words, pure gobbledygook— as diverse as moonbeams and mangoes and from such a motley crew something new begins to emerge— finesse from fiasco creativity is, at times, the art of crafting gems out of bedlam. #inkmine
Thanks Dave ❤️ this was about my archaeology days when I used to catalogue the finds. We'd get these cute little Dutch tiles with windmills on them. Used to love seeing them
Amuse me in the unreality of all we could be, cavort with me down this shoddy path of our own making along it's janky trail we'll ride the soundwave of this song we create. #inkmine
I like my onions pickled, my coffee bitter, my chocolate dark— I like to lie back in life's deep pool, letting its mysteries wash over me sometimes I stand on its highest bough ready to leap into the unknown I love to feel the sun like vinegar on my tongue while I beg for rain. #fromoneline 417
I ruminate on the games we play, the easy virtue we pretend, while beneath runs the agile sweep of mischief— a plain hand, hiding trick cards up its sleeve our games are the kind that keep us wanting I'm always waiting for your next move.
#poemsabout #namesnotnumbers @thebrokenspine.co.uk I wrote two this week. Just thought I'd put the other one up too as it'll get lost in my drafts otherwise.
Good morning #retroartprompt community!! Things are going to get a little stormy with the prompts for the next week. I look forward to your poems/writing/art. I'll be checking in and reposting throughout the week 😊
