Fun fact! I won the Indig music award in 2018 for best new artist. I was also up for Best Folk Album as well but Buffy Sainte-Marie won before we knew she wasn’t Indig. So me, Keith Secola, Troy Kokol, Twin Flames and probably one other artist that didn’t even get nominated would hav won instead.

Names of artists who were also up for the best folk album that was awarded to Buffy Sainte-Marie aka Beverly Santa-Maria before it was revealed that she was not Indigenous.

Odd feeling willingly sending off things to go into a museum what with the general historic relations between Indig ppl and museums. Big difference in being able to decide for sure but still strange. Anyway, gathered some memories that will be part of the Friar’s Music Museum for a bit.
