Scaling of the symbology by fire size does seem to muddy (or fiery) the map a bit….with the result that it appears that a third of the state is on fire! Just dialing back the symbology size at different scales would help tremendously.
Even at state-wide scale…EPA’s symbology does not attempt to aggregate the data, providing a clearer picture of actual conditions and less opportunity for misinterpretation.

Two months into growing season….and not too much change. In the refinement stage, slow growth is fine. 🌲🪴🪹 #bonsai
The harvest. Things got a little too jungly in the jungle tank…and the critters hardly had room to swim. Removed a dozen Vallisneria Gigantica or (Jungle Val) plant to donate at a local fish store. The blades were between 2’ to 4’ in length and really filled the tank as they spread. 🐟 #AquaScene

Every person is uniquely talented…and I believe every person has talents useful to themselves and the world. Not all direct those talents appropriately…and not all are allowed to develop them fully, or have cause/opportunity to use those talents they are uniquely and innately born with.

I would have paid them to get to do the job. As a kid from there, getting paid to go the mountains and woods was a dream come true. Searching for control points was like a treasure hunt…and then things like:
I never knew David Johnston…the mountain blew when I was in HS. But, I first met Harry X. Glicken in 1988. He seemed a nervous nerdy sort, but among geologists, that wasn’t without precedent. I happened to go to lunch with him and he relayed that it should have been him that died at #MtStHellens.
The rocks (and by extension, geologists) always get the blame. I see a murder victim along a shore with tide pools. Ok, maybe it was the geologists.
