Trump's embrace of fossil-fueled policy drives a climate crisis causing extreme drought & heat conditions that make fires more likely, frequent, & extreme. Fires devastating Canada & Minnesota are spreading pollution harming the health of millions. Fossil fuels literally put the fuel on the fire.

Washington, DC "feels like" temperature 114°. Extreme heat is harming and killing millions of people across the globe. It is made more extreme due to fossil fuels--the primary cause of the climate crisis. Worsening extreme heat is a story with a cause and a source: climate change & fossil fuels.
I'm surprised at how few people outside of DC are aware that Trump not only sent the National Guard into DC, but recently doubled the number and expanded their presence throughout the city into quiet neighborhoods where they patrol the streets á la a military occupation. It both shocks and appals.
Investigations in to the deaths of three wildland firefighters on Saturday in Colorado, and two additional firefighters who sustained injuries, must include the extreme cost-cutting, including staffing cuts, experienced by the US Forest Service and USDA under the Trump administration.
