If YOU want to see pictures of mediocre model cars, and some 'hilarious' jokes about weird cars, have I got an account for YOU... ... That's only if I can get it over the line without mishap, of course.
And that's the Root Beer Express finished! Monogram's '39 Chevy kit is no match for their excellent '37 Ford, but even though I REALLY wanted a coupe version of this kit (like I built back in '94) - I think it looks the part. On to the next one, and Build Twelve will be one for the Missus...
So - Build Eleven for 2026 is Revell/Monogram's '39 Chevy Delivery. I built the coupe waaay back in'94 - this was the closest I could get to finding another one. Will I use the decals? We'll see in a few days.
Dodgy Charger complete! Not too shabby for a vintage 1982 kit, all the way from Tasmania. Built it a lot better than last time - I didn't saw the roof off for a start - same colour as in '90/91 too!
Missing piece located after brief but annoying search. So - that means that Project Dodgy Charger is almost finished! One or two details to sort out by the weekend, and it'll be on to Build Eleven. I'll have to decide what that is...
Crapbox Charger is coming along nicely, but I can't find the front chassis crossmember... That'll teach me to spray paint from different kits in one big batch...
Build Ten - and this one is already looking like being like a REALLY quick build. You'll see why later - but here it is, all the way from Tasmania (yes, really) - The Monogram Dodge Charger 2.2!
'40 Ford Coupe complete! Happy with how this one turned out, though I need to find a licence plate for the rear. Join me later for a preview of Build Ten for this year...
Getting closer now with the '40 Coupe. Engine, chassis and interior complete and fitted. This should be the last mockup before the final assault on the summit tomorrow.
Coming Soon and Coming... Later. The '39 Sedan needs a lot of work on the paint, but I'm looking forward to building it for real.
This ain't my first rodeo with AMT's '40 Ford Coupe kit - I last built it in about '92/93 - and it was an OLD kit even then - but it builds up quicker than I remember! Engine and chassis already done, interior next and then final assembly. Might be done by Sunday! ... And it WON'T be salmon pink...
With my mojo back in full effect, it's time to choose Build Nine for 2026 - AMT 1940 Ford Coupe - your time to shine...
Shout goes out to Le Mans Decals for their excellent (and very adaptable to the XJR-9) decals for the XJR-14! It's thanks to those that this kit happened the way it did. Recommended.
And that's the Cadbury (Silk) Cat near enough done! I'm happy with how it turned out in the end, one or two little tweaks to do - like the mirrors - but I like the look. Always preferred the 1991 livery to the 1988 one...
Cadbury Cat (probably should call it the Silk Cat now) finally getting its warpaint...
Cadbury Cat coming closer! Need to let glue dry, then I'll look into that rear cowl - it's not sitting right. After that, homebrew decal scheme...
Summoned up the mojo to do more work on the Cadbury Cat. It's coming along now - engine and chassis are finished (more or less) and it's on to the body and glass next...
I'm beginning to wonder if building this orange kit on an orange table wasn't the best idea...
Last year I built the Lego Mansell FW14B, this year I'm going to try to get two builds done. You can also see what I'm about to demolish, too...
Engine close to finished on the Cadbury Cat - exhausts and radiators still to finish weathering before they're fitted. With that done, it'll be about half finished.
Made a start on the Cadbury Cat. Chassis and interior already coming along nicely, engine has begun too. Will I finish it by the end of the Big Race?
Well, with the Malibu Gasser almost complete, it's time to start thinking about Build Eight for '26. And with Le Mans this weekend, what better time than this to get the Cadbury Cat built..?
Revell/Monogram '66 Chevy Malibu Gasser almost finished - just needs decals and a little finessing. Took a roll on my mojo for some reason, like the Camaro I last built.
Ohhhh boy. THIS could be EPIC. Tamiya Porsche Carrera GT, coming later this year. Fingers crossed, this might be my best work yet... We shall see!
Here's what's coming next for Build Seven. The Revell reissue of the old Monogram '66 Chevy Malibu - going for a 70s Gasser vibe here...
After FAR too long, the Mojo Killer Camaro is finally finished. No idea why this REALLY broke my flow - you'd think a tribute build to the fourth model car I ever built would go quickly...
In other news, THIS was a HUGE eBay score for me! Doesn't look like much, I know, but building the kit of this shitbox back in '91 (when the kit was already very old) is one of my earliest modelbuilding memories. No decals this time, sadly - but this is going to be done justice this time.
