Had the pleasure of getting to work on @galemancerzine.bsky.social 'A TEMPEST OF EVENTS - a gale romance zine' last year, I did a piece in their cookbook section, it was wonderful to come together and make something that raised money for charity. And of course, because this magic man stole my heart

Servings 6
Ingredients

6 strips bacon (Diced)
1 Medium Onion (Diced)
4 Large Russet potatoes (Diced)
2 Cups | 500 ml Whole Milk
2 Cups | 500 ml Chicken Broth
3-5 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
3 Jalapenos (Diced) -Optional, for some heat-
1 1/2 Cup | 180 g Sharp Cheese (Shredded) -Something of personal taste, feel free to add more or add another type of cheese-
3/4 Cup | 180 ml Sour Cream
Herbs & Spices -to personal taste
Salt & Pepper
Paprika, Chili Powder
Dried - Basil, Oregano, Rosemary, Marjoram, Thyme
Scallions chopped -garnish-

Preparation

In a heavy bottomed pot start by cooking the diced bacon on medium heat until brown and crispy, remove from pot and set aside. Discard most of the fat from the pot leaving a 1-2 Tablespoons of bacon fat in the pot.
From there add your diced onions and if desired jalapeno sautéing them on medium heat scrapping the bottom of the pot for any fond/bits , cook onions and pepper down until onions are slightly translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add Diced potatoes into the pot followed by both the chicken broth and milk it should cover all of the veggies in the pot.
Bring the liquid to a bubbling shimmer, stirring occasionally to prevent any sticking, cook potatoes until they are tender and can be easily mashed.
Using a masher or a handy immersion spell blend the mixture until creamy, this will thicken the soup with the starches of the potatoes, lower heat and add herbs and spices to taste. If need be shimmer to cook off extra liquid to thicken soup.
Finish the soup off by mixing in 1 C | 120 g of the cheese, all of the sour cream, and finally the bacon bits.
Serve and garnish with scallions, and any extra cheese or sour cream you desire.

Notes

This soup inspired by the comforts of halfling cooking it's customizable and any home cooks should feel to add or take from the ingredients.

So the Courier going to them to help get things set up in the Wild Card ending made it seem clear (to me) it was the Anarchism akin to the Spanish Revolution of 1936

Coming in just at the last hours for this one! But I wanted to have some fun with the new show, so why not have Ruby teach some caravan. It was also fun to age up Damien and Ruby. I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday!

A whole plethora of Couriers are drawn in some pointing weapons at eachother, one is even holding some dynamite that another is looking surprised to. A few drawing are unfinished
