I've also been enjoying The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo, which follows a genderless cleric and their talking bird as they collect stories and histories in an ancient Asia-inspired fantasy world. How does she fit so much worldbuilding and epic scope in such teeny novellas??

Kicked the year off with this queer YA horror, in which two friends encounter a malevolent supernatural entity when they shortcut through the woods to avoid bullies... and one of them ends up trapped in an abusive relationship with it. Can Colin save his BFF from the worst kind of fae romance?
