$A two-page spread of from The Ballad of Heroes Tabletop Roleplaying game. An initial column outlining basic terms, such as what type of dice are used. The second column states all fractions round up, and all dice are rolled openly at the table since all Players should know their capacity to succeed or fail. It also states a check, or dice roll, is only made if the character lacks enough time, training, or appropriate tools to perform the action; otherwise, being under threat is a standard necessity to need to roll. The second page has two columns: How to make an Action Check, and How to make a Mastery Check Making an Action check requiring rolling a 1d100 less than or equal to the target value, which is usually a character's Skill level. If they roll under half, they get a double success; if they succeed and roll a multiple of 10, they get a triple success (called a Heroic Success). Making a Master Check is the same, except the character adds the 10s-place of their Skill to the number of scored successes and consult a table. <3 is a Fumble, 3-4 is a Fail, 5-7 is a Success, 8-10 is a double success, and 11 or higher is a triple success. These are for extended tasks that usually take at least an hour. Opposed checks simply go to the whoever gets the most successes, and they subtract the loser's successes to determine their overall, or net, amount of success. Ties are split evenly between each side's success goal. Character can assist each other on a skill check, using any skill, as long as they can justify or explain how they help. They give a bonus skill level equal to the 10s place of the skill they assist with. A character may self-assist with one skill. Multiple checks may occur in a single roll, such as a Skill check, a Trait check, and using a Consumable by reading the d100, adding the digits as 2d10, and reading the ones place as 1d10. Page 182 of Cyberpunk RED core rulebook, which explains the base rules for cover in a fight:

You are considered to be in cover if you are fully behind something that could stop a bullet.

If they have line of sight on you, you aren't in cover.

There is no partial cover.

They have a slight greenish sub-hue to their skin, due to small quantities of chlorophyll, with slightly larger eyes, noses, and ears to promote higher sensory awareness than average.

With lower bone density, and higher cartilage levels, they are also incredibly flexible and can maintain unconventional stances for extended periods without aches or pains! (Wouldn't that be nice?)

Hail Heroes! Okay, so it's not finalized. But I'm having a blast just tinkering away and wanted to share the cover + first spread of the budding Hero's Booklet! There still needs to be a spread for: Animals/Mounts and Character History, then All The Magic Spaces. Then make it autocalc! #TTRPG <3

Has the following text (with described blank fields) aside from the game title stated above:

'Heroic Record of:' followed by a blank to fill in character name.

'The' followed by a blank to fill in the character's profession or place in the community.

'In Defense of the Hearth & Home of:' followed by a blank to fill in the character's hometown.

'They left the normal comforts on the date:' followed by a blank to fill in the start date of the game.

'May the tale of their journeys, trials, and triumphs be sung with fervor and honor to those who would hear it, whether across the Free Lands or simply to their children during the darkness of the Fallow.'

The bottom of the page then states 'Recorded and Archived by:' followed by a blank space to fill in the owning Player's name.

The first two pages of the character booklet, which contain fields for Ancestry, Bloodline, Homeland, Region, Age, Pronouns, Height, Weight, and general Description. There are blocks to fill in rolled Characteristics (HEARTS: Hale, Ego, Aware, Resolve, Tough, Size).

The center is for Personality Traits, with each set pair (Adaptable/Steadfast), (Bold/Cautious), (Impulsive/Deliberate), (Altruistic/Egoistic), (Confident/Humble), (Empathetic/Detached) having a posed question for applicability:

How do I respond to Chaos & Change?
How do I respond to Ruin & Risk?
How do I respond to Pressure & Problem?
Who is my first priority and thought?
How do I view myself against others?
How do I view others toward myself?

There is a pink Heart that acts as a counter, and on the opposing page a grey shield that acts as a total Armor counter.

There is a list of Common Skills, as well as places to fill in Trained Skills, Ritual Magic Spells, and Trained Weapon Skills.

The upper right is a place to list Belongings and Wealth, with the center-right holding trackers for Daze, Wounds, Battle Conditions, and various Thresholds for them to occur. There is also a section for Recovery, Move Rate, and whether a character gains Extra Actions.

The bottom right has areas to list information about worn Armor and carried Arms, such as Melee and Ranged Weapons.

And with a little gear purchase... Nadia Aimason, free-hunter and homesteader in Poviso of Marzidio County has been found! Prone to arrogance, but generally goes with the flow. Nadia moves with deliberation even in the face of danger and is used to looking out for herself first.

The provisional character sheet for Nadia Aimason, an arrogant and bold hunter in the small town of Poviso in southern Paran. She is a little stonger than the average person, but otherwise has middling bodily characteristics (despite her personality believing otherwise).

Regardless, she is an accomplished archer, hunter, and woods-woman; she's seen rare creatures and despite her selfish persona happily joined her neighbors to save the whole town from a wildfire.

A perfect candidate to have unexpected Heroism thrust upon them, with plenty of perspective to gain.

Let's all hope to be like Nadia, and be willing to help our neighbors even if it doesn't help us specifically. Self-care and egoism do not always require a transactional life, and one's life should not be viewed as a transaction.

It depicts and masculine and feminine character art for the majority of the page, with a short lore description, how to roll their characteristics, and their baseline traits. Both characters show the standard 'look' of the Pavar bloodline: thick-haired, large framed, with fat-covered musculature; all traits to help them weather the physical rigors of the heavy construction work they were originally crafted to perform.

Hail Heroes! As we're full swing in Expeditionary playtests, I've got the itch to just make some characters and see who I meet! Meet Benedi Nilsmith, the outcast scholar of Poviso town of southern Paran. Born Feltouched, they have alabaster skin and twisted horns but not as scary as the tales say.

It shows the majority of relevant character attributes, such as their Characteristics (Hale, Ego, Aware, Resolve, Tough, and Size), Aspects (such as Damage, Daze, Wounds, and Tenacity), and Personality Traits (shown in pairs, such as Bold vs. Cautious or Empathetic vs. Detached).

There is a space for the various Skills, both Common and Trained, which are a D100 roll under target for success. The lower section shows a large space for inventory slots with items taking up various amounts of slot, a listing of Arms & Armor (though Benedi appears to have no armor and only a quarterstaff for walking).

The bottom is Notes, which show different Events of Benedi's life before they became an Unexpected Hero: They first studied as a Scholar-Mage, where they interviewed a supposed 'Moko Shadowsail', then paid to enter training into the field of Arcanism (and accidentally set their notes on fire!).

These events, aside from creating a simple character Background, also adjusted Benedi's Personality Traits as well.

We hope you are staying warm and safe. And even though the current times make us want to hunch and shrink away from social engagement, we'd like to take a lesson from Benedi here and still be willing to push through our uncertainty and humility to push forward to heroism, however small. Like Benedi Nilsmith, let our Empathetic instincts help us take that small step to reshape the world into a kinder place, if only slightly.
