Closing information gaps around gender, feminism, and the arts takes a village, and today, this village showed up big.

Art+Feminism has spent over a decade closing knowledge gaps on Wikipedia. Now we are expanding that work into Wikidata. Because knowledge gaps don't end at Wikipedia. And neither does the work of closing them. Wikidata Learning Modules and Resource Deck at artandfeminism.org.
Knowledge gaps don't only live in Wikipedia articles. They live in the structured data that decides what gets found, linked, and surfaced online. 44% of AI systems studied showed gender bias. 25% showed both gender and racial bias.
Fewer than 1 in 5 people in Wikidata are women. 89% of artists have no ethnicity data at all. Wikidata powers search engines, AI systems, and the broader internet. What's missing from it spreads.
