This seems like a pretty poor ad choice on a story about a sexual assault.
Some random guy I don't know spent last night going through my FB timeline making nonsensical replies. I scrolled his page and the interesting part is that up until very recently, he only ever reposted others people's right-wing slop, perhaps with a grammatically-tortured single sentence comment.
I don't believe that 213 people have bought this in the last 24 hours.
FB is feeding the MAGA chuds a random post from a mother saying that her non-binary child is in a coma after a bicycle accident, and the chuds are using the opportunity to attack her for using her child's pronouns. These are vile, despicable people.

My guess is this is all one spammer making a living off of Facebook engagement payouts.
I saw one of these posts a month ago for the MA/RI/CT border (which does exist and has an obelisk, but looks nothing like the depiction). Looks like this is just a formula for engagement via outrage bait.
This is pretty much all that FB is now. Just AI slop post after AI slop post. Incidentally, some gen AI model really likes generating variants of this particular tri-state border image, with the same misplaced signs, labels, and a short stone obelisk.

There's a certain look these guys get that screams "I YELL AT MY TV WHEN I SEE BROWN PEOPLE!!!" (The guy literally spends all his time now retweeting anything transphobic or racist that Elon Musk posts. Which is, well, everything?)
