Hm I see there’s been some developments over at Scottish Labour. Anyway here’s a photo I took today that feels apt. Nowhere to go but the skip.

A skip containing rubble and a ladder has the back short side backed up against a building under a first floor window. The window has one small narrow pane at the top which seems to be open, and then one big rectangular pane that appears not to have any glass. Through the large empty pane you can see a wooden door. It might bee off the hinges and leaned up against the wall right at the window? Unclear. Anyway, hanging out the window or door situation right over the skip is a large Scottish Labour banner, red background with white text but dirty and shabby looking. It looks like maybe someone tried to throw it out the window into the skip but it’s caught on or still attached to the windowsill. So it’s kind of just hung sideways out of the windowsill so that all you can read is

I had a similar thought recently when I read that racially-minoritised people in Scotland are more likely to identify as LGBT+ than white people. My theory is if you’ve been a visible minority in one sense then there’s a lower psychological barrier to accepting another.

over 2-3 times greater than in white groups.

Similarly, for trans identities, people from ‘Mixed or multiple ethnic groups’ are
around 4 times more likely to identify as trans, and ‘Caribbean or Black’ individuals
around 2.7 times more likely, compared with white populations.
