For a brief moment, I thought this might be a Chiefs player before I recognized the number. Infatuated with this print design and would love to have a Kaizer Motaung version in a Chiefs shirt.
A photo of the city’s first metro soccer team, the Atlanta Soccer Football Club at Piedmont Park vs the Alabama Polytechnic School, Auburn on March 9, 1912. Love to see the team getting some real estate on the Downtown Brewhouse walls. I suspect @longshoe.bsky.social had something to do with this.
An article in the 20 June 1894 edition of “Atlanta Constitution” announcing the organization of the American League of Professional Football Clubs (ALPF). The first professional soccer league in the U.S. began play on 6 October 1894 & shuttered just 14 days later. #soccerhistory
