I was going to stay in all day but had to go for more lumber. It was bleh outside. Horrible taste from the air.
Some of the hostas in the yard have just started to bloom. This one has about 15 more flower buds above it yet to open. Surrounding it, but invisible to the eye until you're taking a photo, are 600 million mosquitoes. Roughly anyway. #FlowerFridayFamily
Brought this oldie back to life today. My parents bought this from the artist in the early 70s. We were the oddball family with the huge bright yellow arrow in the garden. A too rushed job today but it'll help protect it for now, and that feels good.
I didn't have anything to share today until just now. I saw these hydrangeas peeking out in the woods as I was working on the deck. Nice little pop of color.
Happy anniversary, DSP! Most of the flowering plants seem to be waning in WI, but I got a snap of a bumblebee on this Spiraea today. Hard to see the bee in there but I love seeing pollinators at work.
The lone comment posted on Bloomberg raises some interesting points, namely that the framing of basing his analysis on the resale market, rather than ticket face prices, produces a rosier outcome. OP makes some interesting points though, & yes, every match has been fun so far!
Happy #flowerfridayfamily! The heatwave doesn't sound fun. I'd wanted to share a white Clematis bloom, but yesterday's storm wiped them out. Thankfully I had taken a picture of this Allium in the yard last week. Like purple fireworks exploding!
Mostly passed. Some exploded transformers nearby, and the classic freight train sound, but no evidence of a tornado on the ground (now that I'm out of the basement). Power likely out for hours now. Fun to be back in WI!

In 1977 my parents went to see James Earl Jones perform his one man show "Paul Robeson". The cost? $8.50, tax included. Excellent seats (11th row, center aisle) for just over 3.5x the minimum wage at the time. The arts and concerts used to be affordable for everyone. Wages have simply not kept pace.
Found a fun picture of me today, holding my nephew during my airshow days. I didn't know it at the time but a few days later I'd be flying that Pitts S2 we're standing in front of and learning to do aerobatics. Hammerhead stalls are as fun to do as they look from the ground!
Further back in the woods, there's a lot more yet to open. The photo I posted first is right behind the house, and those are nearly done blooming.

Back in WI and the rhododendrons are in bloom out back. Enjoying the weather, the Friday fish frys, and the late spring blooms not found in the desert. #flowerfridayfamily

Watching the play of the sunset on the mountain is a great destresser at the end of the day.
Weirdly I didn't get any notification this week. The past few I did but not this time. Regardless, I give you a local Ocotillo (sometimes called a coachwhip). Very thorny, very tall 6' to 20'. Colorful on the tips for a few weeks a year.
If you've never played around with any of the flight tracking apps, they're really pretty neat. This is a screenshot from Flightradar24 but there are quite a few free (ad supported) apps like it.
Still, that's 60% depreciation in 3 years for the Lucid. Much less than the Audi or Porsche. Brutal depreciation! I've never met an owner who didn't like their Lucid. That does seem to be their going rate too though, if not maybe a bit high.
Lots in bloom for a short while now in AZ, everything a month earlier than normal owing to the early heat. This is a Strawberry Hedgehog cactus. Pretty, but those thorns are deadly.
