Writer, Author, Poet - A.T. Pike - Anthony Theodore Pike
@atpikestudios
My name is A.T. Pike. I've been a #writer since I was 13 years old. My first book, "Life Through The Eyes of A Wolf" is OUT NOW!
#Writing, #poetry, #journaling, #storytelling: It begins with #honesty. Honesty about the cruel, ugly, terrible things we experience... Honesty about the beautiful, awe-inspiring, amazing things we get to experience. Capturing all of that and distilling it down into written form for all to see!
#Writing for meaning: I see you.

A reel where I invite my readers to leave me an honest review on Amazon. For a small Indie author like myself, Reviews & Ratings are my bread and butter. Amazon Link: shorturl.at/3xHyq #ratings #reviews #amazon #amazonkindle #indieauthor
Permanence, presence, influence. Whatever you would like to call it. #Writers write to exist in the space, the here and now. Having an audience. Having a footprint. Leaving a mark. #americanauthor #atpike #writingquotes #writingcommunity #booksky
I’m gonna quote Shrek here and paraphrase that meaning in stories is like an onion... It has layers! The surface may show one thing; peering underneath the skin-level reveals something else, and finding one's way to the bottom of the well might yield even more truth.
Consistency is key – until we have no other option but to wing it. Lol! 📷: Peanuts; Calvin and Hobbes #writerproblems #writingtip #booksky #comics #peanuts #calvinandhobbes #relatable

This is a hard one. I am extremely protective of my work. But you take an inherent risk by putting something out there publicly, in the big, wide world— out on the free-and-open internet. However, publishing my debut book of poetry, and my new WIP has been massively rewarding. 📷: Anon - Pixabay
It’s a circular exchange! A writer writes the thing, a reader reads the thing, both (hopefully) walk away satisfied. At times, being a novel writer feels like being a little kid again, excited to share my made-up stories with anyone who will listen. And really listen, not just go: Oh, really? Wow!
We can write, we can infer, we can hint at, we can plan and plot all we want... (1/4)
I agree with this. The moment someone else reads it, it’s no longer just the author's. It exists, it’s out there, it’s influencing other people, other readers. Sort of a cat-is-out-of-the-bag moment. #writingcommunity #booksky
Set an achievable goal. 100 words, one good paragraph, 1000 words, no less than 2 full pages…whatever you think you can realistically hit every day.
Yes, inspiration helps, but at the end of the day… writing tends to be about return. Return to an emotion, come back to an agreement or conversation, replaying an experience I had, missing or reminiscing about an old friend, or an old flame, or the one that got away romantically... (1/2)

What does routine vs. creativity mean to you? For me, they're mostly the same. Some days creativity overflows... Other days, I have to stick to my routine and discipline and work through it. How about you? 📷: Anon via Pixabay
Sometimes I just have to stop and take a break. Yes, striking while the iron is hot is good; but if I'm burnt out or mentally depleted, no amount of wanting to continue will keep it flowing coherently. Get up, stretch, drink some water, go outside for a bit. Doing anything but writing... (1/2)
Just like you should always jot down an idea when it hits you (because you will not remember it later), you should not sit around all day waiting to feel inspired! Waiting for motivation doesn't work. Sometimes you have to go hunting and chase it down with a bat. 😆#writinginspiration #writersofbsky
8 years ago, Headspace's app taught me the basics of meditation. I’m no monk, but I learned anyone can meditate: notice the thought, return to the breath, be present. Yesterday, on my 41st birthday, I hit 3,000 straight days of meditation! Cheers to better headspace. @atpikestudios.bsky.social
What a birthday gift… 🎁 I got my Twitter back after a week compromised. If you got a weird “vote for me” podcast DM, it wasn’t me—don’t click. If you did, change your password, enable 2FA & check sessions/apps. 📬 Also: my official Newsletter launches 6/29! Sign up on my site. Link in Comments.
I meant for this to go out yesterday... Visit my website: authoratp.wixsite.com/atpikestudios Scroll to almost the bottom of the page, and sign up for my first ever Newsletter! The first edition should be going out on the 30th, so register today!
At the end of the day, it's all about communication. Using exorbitant or flashy words is fine and all, but I find it's better to speak clearly rather than trying to impress someone!
The Current (of Water) © “Find a way to be water, my friend. Be uncontainable.” Largely inspired by an interview with Bruce Lee, where he talks about being like water. Paraphrasing, “If you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup. Be like water, my friend.”
“Less is more” is a good, albeit difficult, goalpost for me. I’m not used to restricting my flow or creativity, so I do tend to ramble at times. But explaining more, clearly, in a shorter amount of time... is a rather efficient way to communicate.
📬 My first newsletter is coming soon! Join now for news, resources, exclusive content, & more! 🇺🇸 U.S. subscribers are automatically entered to win a FREE signed copy of Life Through the Eyes of a Wolf. Winner announced in July! authoratp.wixsite.com/atpikestudios
I do. My poetry is a little more like bullet points, whereas my prose tends to be paragraphs. What are your thoughts on this?
