July @letterboxd.social favorites. Obviously. I’m sure you’ve seen at least one of these. Maybe two. But if there’s even one of these four that’s new to you, and you want to show some love to the man, here’s where to start.
I’ve been a crankypants on here lately so here’s something deliciously positive: saw TOUCH ME! Amazing balancing act of tone, sexy, funny, deep, slutty, weird, touching (pun not intended), relatable somehow?, queer, and completely original story and storytelling. Yes.
I forgot to mention there were cows!, because the ice creamery is a working dairy farm. ENORMOUS cows. These good girls let me pat their heads and then one of them turned her back end to me and defecated about a foot away. Fun!
It’s this many outside today, but I woke up early (“early”) to take a 45 min drive with a friend to bring him to a new-to-him ice cream place, hit up Trader Joe’s, and then take full advantage of the the Whole Foods 50% off ice cream sale. I made good choices today.

June Letterboxd favorites: queer & formative, queer informative. This is not new ground, 30 years on, but they were foundational for small town 90s teenagers like me. For people around my age, these movies immediately come to mind as our first real (mostly celebratory) tastes of LGBTQIA culture.

Even though the month is almost over… April Letterboxd favorites. Another one inspired by a book. I’m reading You With The Sad Eyes and it’s made me adore and appreciate her even more, which I didn’t know was possible.
Wrapped up a massive annual project at work today - six egg hunts, with over 1800 eggs in play. About 150 kids. This is my third year running it, and thankfully it’s gone a little smoother each time as I learn from my mistakes. I’m very tired. But I’m home and all I have to do tonight is nothing.
