You never quite heal from it. The memories of it permanently affects your life, the wounds never heal, just a simple scar would be a blessing. But I try to be stoic as much as possible.
I will fly no national flags because all of those flags have a history of opressive times. They ALL represent opression and exclusion. All are imbued, originally with traits of fascism. But there is one flag I will fly, that is without borders or discrimination:
