63. HYPERFIST slick and stylish, especially for a free student project. the eye-searing movement combat is fast and fluid, combos are fun to pull off, and there's a great sense of humor throughout. you could argue it gets kind of repetitive, but also, it's like 30 minutes. give it a shot!
62. JURASSIC PARK (rewatch) now i don't want to hear anything about "i don't believe in dinosaurs", because i don't believe in dinosaurs. but i do believe in my own two eyes, and what i saw are fucking dinosaurs.
61. THE BLUE SHELL INCIDENT daaaaamn, those italian bastards shot up my ride
60. TOY STORY (rewatched with friends) shut up buzz, i'll kill you
59. PIRANHA 3DD the ecstasy from piranha 3D wore off. it's everything there but worse. they somehow found a way to take the most batshit concepts imaginable in an endless sea of tits and ass and make them boring. there's nothing to hold onto, and there isn't even LMFAO on the soundtrack. god awful.
58. PIRANHA 3D every direction on my filmographic moral compass became an alien language. i turned into a neanderthal hopping around making guttural grunting noises while laughing and throwing shit at the screen as i watched a man get his half-eaten penis burped up. stupid, horny, disgusting fun.
56 & 57. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID & DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES (rewatch) how do these movies fit into scott the woz lore because rodrick lost him from loded diper within a year
55. PRIMATE went in expecting an over the top B-movie and wound up getting a shockingly tense, no frills slasher with gruesome kills that really shocked me a couple times. they really make you feel bad for ben and his family during his random chimp event, but the movie is still a fun time.
54. JIMMY NEUTRON: BOY GENIUS (rewatch) one of the most nostalgic movies of my childhood mostly holds up! tightly written plot with funny jokes, cool set pieces, charmingly dated CG designs, and a soundtrack with a lot of aaron carter. worth seeing again even though the show completely trounces it.
53. ANACONDA (2025) the anaconda franchise is not revered enough to warrant making a franchise wanking, meta piss take- but it's BECAUSE of the fact nobody cares that i felt this could have worked. unfortunately it's not funny, not scary, and doesn't have anything interesting to say. terrible.
52. DELTARUNE: CHAPTER 5 (pacifist only) not the strongest narrative, but incredibly rich thematically. the individual character moments have some of the highest highs we've seen so far. also the most inventive and unique mechanics in the game. i'm so happy we got to have one last fun adventure...
51. TOY STORY 5 had fun, but it's probably my least favorite of the films. too indulgent for my taste, and doesn't really answer its core questions in a way that's satisfying beyond "maybe technology can be good AND bad sometimes". conan o'brien toilet trainer ruled though. pretty good.
50. TOY STORY 4 (rewatch) it's still an unnecessary film, and i do think certain elements are undercooked, but it's also a strong coda off the themes of 3, and has a really good character arc for woody. the bit with the key and peele plushies attacking the old lady gets me every time. solid.
49. GACHIAKUTA (season 1) delivered on all fronts. stylish, one of the coolest power systems in the game, diverse and fleshed out freaks all around, and some absolutely nutty worldbuilding. there's a few mild pace breakers every now and again, but it's hardly a blemish. really fucking good.
48. SCOOBY-DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED (rewatch) between linda cardilini in the tightest leather known to man and the mining lab transformation scenes, i fear this movie awakened something in everyone else who saw it except for me. i turned out normal.
47. SCOOBY-DOO (2002) (rewatch) i'm up schnizuff on all popular james gunn trivia. word!
46. HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1999 REMAKE) there's a schizophrenia "curing" thaumatrope torture mechanism. the hulk at universal orlando is a set piece. all the ghosts move like EDM rave dancers at 500x speed. they play marylin manson's cover of "sweet dreams" like five times. absolutely batshit.
44. AMONG US (TV SERIES) struck while the iron was ice cold, but it's far better than an among us show has any right to be. funny, nasty, well voice acted. and faithful to the game. wish that paramount didn't fuck the crew over with a surprise drop. also that black crewmate is... no. i shant say.
43. BACKROOMS set and creature design are insane. best the backrooms have ever looked or worked for the screen. but there wasn't enough character, plot, or thematic depth to really keep me hooked beyond the moments that mimic the found footage of kane's youtube series. certifiably... interesting.
42. THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: THE LAST ACT best possible ending these characters could have gotten. extremely cathartic. wish a good portion of the other cast members got more focus- could have used an extra episode- but everything was worth it for that final shot. i love you guys, we are TDAC.
41. PLANETRONIKA PILOT this was great! one of the few Y2K revivals that gets the style right, especially in the visual & sound design. feels like a canadian cartoon that got shoved onto cartoon network in 2006. i would have had a huge crush on butterfly at the ripe age of 8, for sure.
40. GAMEOVERSE PILOT enjoyable for what it is, but something felt missing. concept is interesting, animation and score are fun, and it has some good designs. i'm happy glitch continues to support 2D animation and it's cool that this finally got made- but i need to see more before i'm sold.
39. CHAINSAW MAN: THE MOVIE - REZE ARC (rewatch) it just keeps getting better and better.
38. PROJECT HAIL MARY just solid (if overlong) all around! admittedly don't have too much to SAY about it beyond really enjoying grace and rocky's relationship and the very creative problem solving solutions throughout. hope bro bought enough sour skittles for the class.
37. OBSESSION jesus fucking christ dude. oh my god. just see this completely blind. stone cold modern horror classic.
36. SCISSOR SEVEN (season 1) super into this! always love a more wacky episodic structure that bleeds into something more serialized. seven is a great protagonist, and it has some solid jokes and extremely fun action too, especially in the back half. looking forward to where it goes from here!
35. TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN (rewatch) another strong entry from gainax's golden age! hype moments and aura transformed into sincere depth about the indomitable human spirit. the first half is far stronger, but that ending is second to none. made me feel like a 15 year old again.
34. FLCL (rewatch) they never told us what kind of thing it was in the end. i mean was it a fooly sort of thing? or a cooly sort of thing? i hate audience interpretation. can't they just make life easy on me? huh?? where are my eyebrows???
