We got our house kitted with solar panels in august and while this winter sucked for solar, you can see how the panels helped in those two billing period in the fall.
Battle royale yesterday morning as two owls were perched, then 2 crows started to get chirpy. The crows left then 5 min later 6 of them (is that a murder? ;) ) showed up and buzzing the remaining owl. 30 min later, a blue jay came to help the owl, wanting some action.
Beef stew and cornbread cooked over a wood stove while watching football last Sunday
Tried to make some cornbread in Thre cast iron pot and bake it in the Webber kettle. I scaled back the recipe but I needed to to trim back the salt more. This version called for some bacon and green chilies. Texture and crust was good, just the salt kinda killed it. V2 attempt tomorrow.
The neighbour wanted me to come over and cook my cast iron chilli for him while we watch week 18 of football so we’re set up at his woodstove and will taste this fine chilli in a few hours
