I cannot believe that someone (successfully) heisted 12 tonnes of KitKat Anyone have this one on your 2026 Bingo card? Wasn't on mine

We can confirm that 12T of KitKat products were stolen while in transit between our factory in Central lItaly and their destination in Poland.

We are working closely with local authorities and supply chain partners to investigate.

The good news: there are no concerns for consumer safety, and supply is not affected.

Straight from the Mary Berry Complete Cookbook I replace the sultanas, walnuts and cherry with just chocolate chips (milk and dark) and lower how much sugar for taste preference too - the more over-ripe the bananas, the more naturally sugary they become apparently so!

Fruity banana bread

CUTS INTO 12 slices
CALS EACH 334kcal

125 g (4 oz) butter or baking spread plus extra for greasing
250 g (8 oz) self-raising flour
175 g (6 oz) caster sugar
125 g (4 oz) sultanas
60 g (2 oz) walnuts, roughly chopped
125 g (4 oz) glacé cherries, quartered rinsed, and dried
2 large eggs, beaten
500 g (1 lb) bananas, weight with peel, peeled and mashed
1 KG (2 LB) LOAF TIN

1. Grease the loaf tin and line the bottom with greaseproof paper.

2. Put the flour into a bowl, add the butter, and rub in with the fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Mix in the caster sugar, sultanas, chopped walnuts, land glacé cherries.

3. Add the eggs and mashed bananas and beat the mixture until well blended. Spoon into the prepared tin.

4. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (140°C fan, Gas 3) for about 1.5 hours until well risen and firm to the touch. A fine skewer inserted into the middle of the loaf should come out clean.

5. Leave the loaf to cool slightly in the tin, then turn out on to a wire rack, and peel off the lining paper. Leave the loaf to cool completely abefore slicing and serving.
