Romania shot down a Russian drone again today for the third day in a row! Russia’s ambassador to Bucharest was summoned by the Foreign Ministry following the repeated violations of national airspace in recent days.
Romania has shot down another Russian drone, just 24 hours after the previous one.
PS. A detail that Nicușor Dan omitted. Some of the people he's referring to here were members of the Iron Guard (i.e. fascists). The CIA trained them for infiltration missions, intelligence gathering, and supporting the anti-communist resistance in Romania, back in the 50s-60s.
I went to all the marches supporting Nicușor Dan during his election campaign. At none of these events did I see a single U.S. flag. There were only Romanian and EU flags.
After her party introduced a bill in the Romanian Parliament that serves Moscow's narrative and propaganda (see the thread below), MEP Diana Șoșoacă is once again in Moscow. It's been less than a month since she was at SPIEF. It seems that even though she's paid by the EU, she's working for Moscow.
In the 2024 Romanian parliamentary elections, PSD got 2,084,000 votes, while PNL+USR+UDMR (pro-🇪🇺 coalition) got 3,156,000. Yet President Dan ignores the pro-EU nomination and insists that PSD should form the government, the same PSD that toppled the pro-EU government together with the far right.
The Romanian pro-EU coalition nominated a competent candidate for PM: Siegfried Mureșan, one of the most influential MEPs, Vice-President of the EPP and chief EP negotiator for the EU’s upcoming budget. It seems the Social Democrats(PSD) are not exactly pro-EU, judging by their reaction: 👇
Russia has decided to withdraw its athletes from the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Romania after Cluj-Napoca Mayor Emil Boc took a firm stand and called for the Russian flag and national anthem to be banned from the competition. 👏👏👏
Starting yesterday, all of Russian propaganda in Moldova, and today even Zakharova, condemned the “abusive intention of the Romanian state to annex Moldova.”
It seems the agreement was made under certain conditions, and the Federation has changed its approach since then. hotnews.ro/romania-sa-n...
Update: The flags have been taken down; I hope this time it’s for good! No one has yet explained why they were placed there. 📸 Costin Andrieș, Facebook.
Did you think it was over? Well...after the authorities removed the Russian military flags from the public poles, those who are building the church put them back up, this time on the church scaffolding. 📸l Costin Andries, Facebook
Romanian President Nicușor Dan attended today the U.S. Embassy's Independence Day reception in Bucharest. A stark contrast to Europe Day, when he canceled his entire schedule, including meetings with EU officials, citing the political crisis, one we are still in today.
Finally, the Romanian authorities have taken down the Russian army’s combat flags from the public poles near Bucharest, Romania. A small victory. 📷Source: Costin Andries, facebook
Nazi Bovino is in Romania, attending a far-right conference, and says he found his inspiration in Vlad the Impaler. 🤦♀️ How on earth can you take inspiration in 2026 from a brutal 15th-century ruler?!
The Orthodox flag of the Russian Army symbolizing Russian atrocities is flying on a street near Bucharest, Romania, next to the obviously Russian-style church worth 20 million euros that Romanian MP Gigi Becali is building. 🙄 Source: Costin Andries, Facebook
If the Kremlin wanted him dead, then I believe his voice and his work deserve to be heard even more. Source: Семён Скрепецкий/Semyon Skrepetsky, Tiktok
It looks like tomorrow's conference will feature not just the nazi Bovino, but also major supporters of the Russian invasion, like Filip Dewinter, the pro-Russian leader of Belgium's Vlaams Belang party, or Tommy Robinson. G. Simion, the leader of Romania's far-right AUR, won't be missing either.
I was curious what kind of vessel the Russians considered such a threat that they opened fire on it, and apparently, this is it. Hard to believe this wasn't just another provocation/test targeting the Europeans. www.thesun.co.uk/news/3943362...
UNESCO has been very mild in condemning yesterday's Russian attack on UNESCO World Heritage site in Ukraine. I have seen much stronger statements from UNESCO in other situations. What are we to make of this? That UNESCO does not want to condemn Russia?
If hell exists, Putin will burn in it. First and foremost for all the people who have died on his orders, but also because he has bombed churches. And yet, the Romanian Orthodox Church’s statement condemned the attack last night without naming the perpetrator, as if the perpetrator were unknown. 🤦♀️
Losing Crimea would be a devastating blow, probably enough to send Putin's approval ratings into freefall, and I think it could lead to Russia's defeat. But losing Crimea alone wouldn't automatically mean defeat. understandingwar.org/research/rus...
This is clearly not a good time for Putin to lose control over the annexed territories. 😀 www.facebook.com/zelenskyy.of...
