Have you tried this Mexican restaurant ? maps.app.goo.gl/wcH599LGtxrh... I haven’t been there in a long time so I can’t be absolutely sure… but when I dined there it was delicious. 12/10 highly recommended.

Yes Robert Tinney’s Byte covers are the stuff of legends! I think this one is my favorite (also that’s probably my favorite issue of Byte) :

Personnellement je pense à l’Australie/NZ comme étant approximativement vers le nadir. Si tu veux connaître la direction à suivre à la surface du globe, cette projection azimutale équidistante nous montre que c’est grosso modo entre l’Est et le nord-nord-est.

Projection azimutale équidistante du globe centrée sur Paris. Idéale pour savoir dans quelle direction tirer un missile balistique vers vos ennemis (si vous habitez à Paris). Et inversement, pour savoir de quelle direction viendront les missiles de vos ennemis.

Anecdote amusante: la plupart des terre-platistes sont fermement convaincus qu’une telle carte est la véritable carte du monde - mais centrée sur le pôle nord au lieu de Paris.

Venus and Regulus, slightly lower and to its left, are seen at dusk, between a lamppost and a tree place du Pont Neuf. Also in the back— no, foreground, are the dome of the Institut and a ligh tbeam from the Eiffel Tower (which is not seen).

Dark matter

Accounts of the history of the cosmological concept of dark matter typically start with Zwicky's work on galaxy clusters. While examining the Coma galaxy cluster in 1933, Zwicky was the first to use the virial theorem to discover the existence of a gravitational anomaly. Using the number of observed galaxies, crude approximations for the size of the cluster, and the average mass of a galaxy, the virial theorems' balance of average kinetic and potential energy predicted a velocity dispersion much lower than the observed value. Zwicky concluded that:

« If this would be confirmed, we would get the surprising result that dark matter is present in much greater amount than luminous matter. »

I’m a rather shy person and I rarely take pictures of people. After taking this one I approached the guy, explained that it was the street name plate I was interested in and asked him if he minded being on the picture… (He didn’t mind. 😮‍💨)
