I spent this evening playing a game I NEARLY finished back in 2008: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. My flatmate at the time beat it before me and spoiled the ending, so I lost my motivation to play it. I'm playing it on the XBox this time and I hope to reach the end credits 🚗🔫
I'm carrying on with games in my PlayStation Vita backlog with something a bit out there: Hatoful Boyfriend! I have no clue to what I'm going in to here; what little I've heard sounds completely bizarre, but it clearly piqued my curiosity a few years when I bought it in a sale. Here goes nothing! 🕊
15) Full Throttle Remastered This must have felt incredible at the time; the art style, music, voice acting and story still hold up well today. Unfortunately there are a lot of dogshit puzzles where I got stuck because I didn't click a tiny subtle area of the screen. The 2nd half was a blast though.
Now for something completely different! I played a lot of LucasArts adventures games in the 90s, but this one always passed me by. I've heard good things about Full Throttle so I hope it still holds up well today! 🏍
The kids were playing Mario Odyssey earlier and they were both laughing their heads off at this part 😂

14) Donkey Kong Bananza This took me a while to get into because it mostly is just smashing things, but the later bananzas and challenges add more depth and make it shine. It feels very Mario Odyssey, and that's no bad thing. Not sure if I'll bother with the DLC, I think I've had my fill for now.
I forgot to post that I reached the credits in Donkey Kong Bananza yesterday. It was a bit of a slow start; the controls take a bit of getting used to, and you really do just smash everything, but it gets more fun as you unlock more Bananzas. The endgame really ramps up the story and challenge 🍌

I couldn't resist going back to try and 100% GTA Chinatown Wars. I've done everything I can, but it turns out you needed to go online and connect to the Rockstar Social Club to unlock the final drug dealer and truly 100% the game, so this will be unfinishable forever 😫
13) Mega Man: Dr Wily's Revenge I'm not sure what possessed me to try this today, but I actually quite enjoyed it. It's still very difficult (unless you use the rewind feature which I did nyehehe) but not anywhere near as brutal as the NES original, which I remember being hellish.
I finally got back to DK Bananza this week for the first time since January. Don't you just hate it when your tongue gets stuck to a lampost?
12) GTA Chinatown Wars I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. It feels all the fun of GTA packed into a smaller map. The story is great and there are so many things to do. I'm not planning to 100% this one because it won't add anything to the story, but I had a blast.
I rolled the credits on GTA Chinatown Wars. It's the first GTA I've ever played through to the credits and I loved it! I'm not promising to get 100% because there is a LOT to do, but I'm going to continue playing to see how many security cameras and stunt jumps I can get at least.
Playing more GTA Chinatown Wars, and finally surpassed my progress on my first save file all those years ago. I'm really not sure why I gave up on it because I'm loving it. I think I felt it was inferior to other games in the series because of it being "top-down", but it's honestly a gem.
