On one hand you have the 80s film and the Born to Rock album cover but alot of the time it's bullshit like this.
Continuation of YD's post; As much as I feel like Ross Jr had good intentions (despite me hating him) I feel like the biggest mistake he did was downplay the dysfunctional aspect of Dave and the boys dynamic and turn them into a generic sitcom family. Makes the concept significantly less interesting
I was like 13 at the time depressed as fuck in my dad's car and then as a joke I decided to put this up and then soon realized "holy shit this is actually really well made and well produced music once you get past the high pitched voices" and then proceeded to go down a rabbithole.
Just got done watching like 6 of them and yeah outside of nose exhales not of them made me laugh. I like this close up tho
I feel like this mainly had to due with general trends of satam cartoons at the time, especially when it came to shows that we're specifically IP/toy driven like MLP and Care Bears. Fullbright primary and secondary colors for the BGs while the characters each have a specific corresponding color

Genuine contender for the most astroturfed cartoon of all time. This shit aired non stop on Kids WB and CN during its original run, was merchandised and marketed out the ass and is still being rerun on nu-CN and even MeTV Toons to this day and Ive yet to see a single normal mf who actually liked it
Not to be the 1 to bring up old news but my god I think that the craziest part of this statement is that it came from the same guy who made the most personal and emotional films in Pixar's catalog. As someone who grew up with both the 90s Woody Woodpecker show AND the 40s theatrical cartoons so finding out that Woody didn't have his original topknot hair for the majority of his existence never sat right with me as a kid. When I first saw his 50s design I genuinely thought it was a bootleg.
(Also did close ups of 2 drawings on the right due to the stupid scanner app I use brightening them up too much)
